Yesterday's webinar about achieving greater efficiency with true serverless solutions went really well. I especially enjoyed Ryan and Eric's perspectives on serverless using real-world examples and experience. The replay is definitely worth your time to watch! bit.ly/4fKD7eb Thanks to @awscloud, @serverlessguru, and @fauna!

Did a quick video about Fauna's Region Groups. They let you choose which regions your data is stored and processed, ensuring low-latency performance for your users across specific geographies while maintaining strong consistency and security. Let's discuss the essential building blocks of Fauna and how they relate: databases, collections, indexes, schema, documents, and more! In this video, I cover all of these and what you need to know to get started quicker.

Now I no longer can say, "I hate the term schemaless" when it comes to NoSQL databases. Now I can start schemaless, but then add in controls and enforcement as I develop my app or as requirements/functionality change. I can apply these controls as needed via gradual typing of my schema. bit.ly/4c9I2Uu The next video will be about migrating from your existing schema, or lack thereof, to the new schema you have designed and the tools Fauna Inc. delivers to help devs with that. No more "You're on your own" or "figure it out!!"

Getting even more into Fauna's database security. In this video, I go over how to set up a simple authentication/authorization system you can use with users, APIs, etc. and it's built into Fauna. For more information on this see: Create a sign-in function - bit.ly/3KmBOV1 Create user-defined roles - bit.ly/3Kn60PX Next up will be how to take this to the next level with attribute-based access control (ABAC).

I have been digging deep into Fauna's security over the last few weeks, and there's a LOT to love here. It is so much smoother than most #NoSQL databases I've worked on and certainly more fine-grained. We're doing a webinar on Fauna security in a few weeks! Join us to learn how to secure your data at the source, in the database. bit.ly/4dSnvFv

A quick video about update operations in @fauna using Fauna Query Language. These are just simple CRUD operations, but you can get fairly complex with this full-fledged query language. You can even put FQL into server-side functions, aka stored procedures.

A quick video on simple delete operations in @fauna with Fauna Query Language. Including traversing actual relationships in a JSON document to delete related documents, too.

Next up in my Fauna Jumpstart series is a video on simple writes and bulk write operations. bit.ly/4cAqdP1 In a few lines of code, you'll learn to create an array of documents and do a simple iteration through that array to write quickly and efficiently to your Fauna database collections. In addition, you'll learn how to add a relationship to a JSON document you can JOIN on. All in a strongly consistent multi-region transaction!
