I'm happy to announce Rima: The Emerald Forest releases 13 Oct 2026. An homage to the original 1904 novel, "Green Mansions", Rima encounters strangers moving through her jungle, but their skin, even paler than hers, catches her attention. Could they have some connection to her hidden past or do they portent a danger she has never faced before.

Who would be interested in a November writing challenge hosted by @GetFalcontext?
Spent the afternoon repairing my web site. Apparently, some of the images from the site were not in my media center, so I had to reload, or in a few cases re-find , the images.
Not how I hoped to use my time, but I’m glad I have it done.

Anyone interested in 60$ headshot for your DnD character?
Past commission ( as an example )
Looking forward to having both of you in the anthology.
It's definitely shaping up to be an interesting ride.
Just sent out the contract for the eighth story for Southwatch Stories:A Darkside Chronicles Anthology. This project is coming together nicely, and just waiting on a few more submissions,
Then the 2nd hardest part starts-trying to figure out the optimal order to put the stories into to make the anthology flow.
Still, I’d say we’re currently on schedule and I can’t wait to share these stories with you.
Home from @ArchonStl and taking a much needed break before hitting the last big swing of conventions. Two weekends from now, I head north for my first international convention (Can*Con in Ottawa, Ontario), and then return to Maryland for Fright Reads and FaeryCon.
That will wrap things up except for Museums by Candlelight, where I'll be helping support the Fredrick Public Libraries. It's a one-day event and even though I seldom sell much there, I'm always happy to support libraries and reading in general.
I haven't heard back from Steel City Con yet about their December show and am suspecting I applied too late. There's a chance I'll still sneak in, but it relies on several other people not going and me being a substitute, so I'm not holding my breath.
But, the good thing is, my 2027 con list is growing and I'm just waiting to hear back from several shows, yea or nay. The good thing was my 2026 list was pretty solid this year and only a couple of shows are on my "not returning to" list. Sometimes, it's just a bad fit. Sometimes, it's just a bad vibe. I'm generally willing to give shows a couple of times to prove me wrong, but with the number of shows out there, I'm getting more and more picky as I decide just how many miles I want to drive next year.
Unfortunately, I ain't getting no younger. *grin*
Prepping for day two of @ArchonStl . Yesterday was a lot of fun. Met a lot of people, renewed acquaintances with several more, and even sold a few books.
Ran into the usual “It’s Friday, I’m only looking,” from the majority of the passersby , but if a quarter of the “I’ll come back later” actually do, this could shape up to be a very successful show.
Two panels today - “Avoiding Scams and Grifts as a New Author” and “World Building 101”. I think I’m qualified to be on these. The fact that I’m moderating both means the coffee better kick in soon. *grin*
Ready for @ArchonStl Day 1. Right now, we’re in the middle of dealers’ load-in, but since I only have one table, it doesn’t take long to get set up.
My only panel today, “Writing Multiple Genres Together”, is at 2pm, so it doesn’t conflict with the Dealer’s Room hours.👍🏻
Starting the grand adventure, traveling to @ArchonStl with the daughter-unit. Car is loaded with my latest titles and I look to seeing my friends in St. Louis again.
Not sure if I should be queuing up the Blues Brothers or the Muppets soundtrack for our traveling music.

So in appreciation for all the new people following me here on X lets have a DaveCon.net badge sale.
Discount code is GRIMOIRE2026
Had a great time at @baltimorecomics this year and have already signed up for next year. Sales were definitely better than last year's, but there were more lookers than buyers and people were focusing on my less expensive books until Sunday. Not sure if it's the general economy or just "that's how this con went".
Best selling books were Battletech: Slack Tides, Chasing Danger, and Harbinger of Darkness/Cry Havoc. Some of my other titles that usually sell quite a bit were virtually overlooked by this year's audience.
Still, with the improved sales, I am looking forward to next year's shows and hopefully, I'll have several new titles (to include several sequels to existing books) to try and entice new (and returning) readers to stop by and check out the selections.
Note to self: Definitely add more hardbacks and "con exclusive" books for 2027's con sessions. It appears "collector" and "con exclusives" are being sought out in 2026.

I'm at the Baltimore Convention Center this weekend for @baltimorecomics . Artist alley, G4, with 30+ titles. Dragons! Superheroes! Strangeness! I write it! You want it! Come get it!
Day one of @baltimorecomics is underway. Having a great time meeting the other authors/artists at the show.
