Goodnight, lovely souls. 🌓🐾
Tonight’s first-quarter moon—half light, half shadow—offers a symbol of balance, courage and determination as its light grows.
In Macedonian folklore, Saturday-born Sabbatarians could see and fight vampires. In one local tradition, a little dog walked beside them each evening, driving the creatures away.
That faithful companion makes me think of dear Skittles—now across the veil, forever in my heart. 🧡
May the growing moon brighten your hopes, and faithful love accompany your dreams.

According to old books of magic, Scandinavian witches were able to create supernatural cats, so-called troll cats.
The troll cat was made in an intricate ritual involving hair, blood, metal scraped off church bells and nails cut on a Sunday, among other things.
According to folklore, the troll cat would steal milk by drinking it and bring it back to the witch.
If the troll cat was hurt, the witch would also be hurt. And if the troll cat was killed, which was only possible with a silver bullet, the witch that created it would also die immediately.

Cats are mysterious creatures! We think we own them, give them names of our choosing. It rarely, if ever, occurs to us that they may have their own names for themselves, or may have names for us. I wonder what they call us?

True love divination 🪄👁️
#SpookySunday 🌼
Tonight, will your true love visit your dreams?
October 18 is St Luke’s Day, traditionally associated with love divination—a chance to glimpse the person you would marry.
An old charm called for marigold flowers, a sprig of marjoram, thyme and a little wormwood. These were dried before a fire, powdered and sifted through fine linen, then simmered with a little virgin honey and white vinegar.
Before sleeping, the hopeful dreamer anointed her stomach, breasts and lips with the mixture and repeated three times:
“St Luke, St. Luke, be kind to me,
In dream let me my true love see!” 😶🌫️
She was then to fall asleep, when, according to the belief, her future husband would appear in her dreams. 🌙
