Next paper in the Blanpied lab paper parade! Here I, alongside @CajalMeMaybe, @Golgi_Willikers, and Twitterless Mike Anderson, describe the nanoscale organization of synaptic scaffolding protein SAP102 with respect to PSD-95.
Distinct SAP102 and PSD-95 nano-organization defines multiple types of synaptic scaffold protein domains at single synapses biorxiv.org/cgi/content/shor… #bioRxiv

Critical for proper glutamatergic signaling are mGluRs. But we haven't been sure about their distribution. Until now: new work from @NickyScheefhals
@Westra_Manon @hdmacgillavry using super-res imaging (& our anti-mGluR5 😃) gives wonderful new insights! buff.ly/3HdNY1Y
5/ We developed an inducible dimerization system to acutely re-localize mGluR5 to the synapse. This led to a severe deregulation of synaptic calcium signaling and indicates that preventing synaptic entry is critical for restricting mGluR5 overactivation.
This paper has been long in the making, but now it’s out and perfectly wraps up my PhD! Huge thanks to @Westra_Manon @hdmacgillavry and all members of the MacGillavry lab!
