Got from apartment to gate in 27 minutes this morning, god bless the Washington Metro 🥲
Having a train that takes you directly to the airport is genuinely one of the top 10 things a city can offer. No expensive taxis, no sitting in traffic, no begging someone to drop you off. Just get on the train and arrive at the airport. Every major city should have this.

All hail the District of Columbia, which has trains to take you directly to BOTH airports.

Why are the Amtrak Airos a net good for passenger rail in the U.S.? 1) Amtrak desperately needs more trains. These are more trains. 2) Time savings on engine swaps @ WAS, PHL & NHV 3) Cab cars for push-pull corridors save terminal recovery time, non-revenue movements & crew time

Worth noting that the current NC service will be greatly improved by S line project, with a more direct alignment and 90-110 MPH track speeds.
Scenes from the Amtrak Carolinian, DC to Raleigh! Not the fastest route, but a useful and scenic one!

If Connecticut was serious about investing in its future, it would reconfigure and cap it's freeways in Hartford to give the capital and region new life.

This entire story is Trump's presidency in a nutshell: the DOJ brings totally baseless charges against an ordinary citizen in order to satisfy Trump's narcissistic delusions, and then, after having wreaked havoc on the guy's life, says "Never mind." Utterly pathetic.
