Area power outage update #4 Areas 7 and 2 could have power supply within the next few hours, or sooner, if all goes according to plan. @Eskom_SA has found the two high voltage power lines that tripped and caused the outage and they have been reconnected. #CTNews

I’m at the Montague sub-station where @CityofCT engineers and teams are working on power restoration. Switching on of Woodstock, parts of CBD and Tamboerskloof is beginning now. Teams continue to work on cable repair to restore other parts of CBD and Seaboard.

Area 7 power outage update Serious work is under way to restore power to Area 7 using different supply routes as one of the main feeder lines from the City's Acacia High Voltage Substation to Montagu Gardens and Eskom's Tafelbaai High Voltage Substation has been lost. #CTNews

First genomic surveillance results from a traveler to India in South Africa. A patient at Tygerberg Hospital who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 about 3 days after traveling to SA from India. This first genome is a 501Y.V2 (B.1.351) and not the B.1.617 described in India.
