Genomics reality check:
Now: we sequence fast and cheap, against a reference built from a few anonymous donors.
Near: a pangenome atlas of many diverse, telomere-to-telomere genomes.
Next: a variant means the same thing no matter whose genome it came from.
The bottleneck moved from reading to interpreting.
