This is cool. A narrative job title calculator.
Narrative Designer means different things at different studios, so it's hard to know what to call yourself sometimes or know what an employer is really looking for.
Adam Burt shared this on LinkedIn. Try it

There's a lot of inconsistency around job titles for people who work on narrative in games.
So I've turned some of my thoughts into this handy calculator!
It's a resource for individuals and studios looking to clarify and differentiate roles and careers

As ever, there are lots of extras I could add, and more work that could be done on it - but perfect is the enemy of done, and this feels like an urgent, timely piece. It's perhaps more relevant this week than it would've been if I had done it sooner, or worked on it for longer.
So, give it a go? You're on Twitter anyway, so you already know how to play.

Some #AdvX23 highlights
- @sagarberoshi on using history as inspiration for new stories
- @CharlesCecil and @GrundislavGames separately talking about UI challenges
- @ChellaRamanan and @_GilesArmstrong debating whether Tenchu or DoA Beach Volleyball is the worst, actually
I should really say that all the talks I saw were good, and Chella also gave a very insightful talk about tackling real world topics.
I also got to briefly play a bit of @AHighlandSong and some other interesting projects in the exhibition area!
The big takeaway theme for me overall was about diverse perspectives, and diverse approaches to story - and taking them on with authenticity in mind.
All the talks left me feeling optimistic about the future of narrative in games. #AdvX23
You'll mostly find me on other apps these days, but I wanted to take a moment to say hi 👋 to all my new #AdvX23 friends! If we spoke, rest assured that I enjoyed our interaction.
Some of you asked about my @ifcomp entry - it's written in Ink and it's called Detective Osiris. Find all the games in this year's content here: ifcomp.org/ballot/
