"A warming pulse in the Antarctic continent changed the landscape during the Middle Ages" Mosses, found under 11 m of ice, grew ~1,050 years ago at the site of this Antarctic glacier, meaning it was warmer than today in Antarctica around the year 1000. Explained here: "Our data show that the supraglacial melting was widespread on all the Boulder Clay Glacier (BCG) surface..." "It is also noteworthy that under current climatic conditions, [...} there is no evidence of meltwater on the BCG, and the surface of the glacier is permanently snow-covered. Therefore, the occurrence of an almost ubiquitous glacial unconformity within the BCG and the development of a long fluvial channel (more than 4 km) [...] indicate exceptional climatic conditions in the BCG area." nature.com/articles/s43247-0…

The hottest day ever officially recorded in Australia, using a standard Stevenson screen at a government weather station, was 125 °F (51.7 °C) on Sunday, 3 January 1909, at Bourke, New South Wales. For decades this was long recognised as Australia’s hottest day. However, it didn’t fit the “global warming” narrative. For if, as alarmists assert that “climate change” is causing unprecedented record heat, how could our hottest-ever day have occurred back in 1909? So just as Orwell described in 1984, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) rewrote history. "Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute ….. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.” The BOM’s excuse for erasing this record was that the observer at the Bourke Post Office in January 1909 supposedly made a mistake. "Observer error" someone at the BOM decided from a desk in Canberra a century later. The BOM’s justification for declaring it a “mistake” was the assertion that no nearby weather station recorded a similar temperature spike on the same day, so therefore the 125 °F reading at Bourke must have been an error. But that claim by the BOM is a LIE. Before COVID, I personally visited the Australian National Archives to examine the original handwritten meteorological observation books because I no longer trusted the BOM after some of their earlier data manipulations. The archived observation book from the official weather station at Brewarrina — the nearest official station to Bourke, just 100 km away — recorded a maximum temperature of 50.6 °C (123 °F) on the very same day in January 1909. The hottest temperature ever recorded there. Thus, we had two official government weather stations only 100 km apart both independently recorded extreme heat on the same day: Bourke 125 °F and Brewarrina 123 °F. Game, set, match. The Bourke record must be reinstated and the BOM held accountable for their malfeasance and fraudulent attempt to rewrite our history. One of my regrets is that the human-rights abuses inflicted upon Australians during the COVID years, along with the malfeasance at the TGA, distracted me from pursuing this matter in Parliament further at the time. Any organisation that can so brazenly and fraudulently tamper with historical data, as the BOM has done, simply cannot be trusted. I’d bet London to a brick that the very same people at the BOM who fraudulently altered our climate history have their fingers all over the $100 million of taxpayers’ money they’ve spent “updating their website”. There should be a full investigation into the Bureau of Meteorology. I volunteer to head it.
I wonder on the BOMs new $100 million website, how much historical data they purged ?

And remember this trick from the BOM ? They had this first graph of “Average Number of Very Hot Days" on their website for years. But the data didn’t fit the alarmist "Global Warming’ narrative; 1953 had the most very hot days and 2010 the least. So the BOM simply tampered with the data; cooling the past to the create fewer Very Hot Days prior to 1980 and warming the present to create more. Then they simply swapped the graphs - but when they busted, they attempted to destroy the evidence by de,et ung the graph altogether.
The CSIRO are using cooked data from the BOM. The BOM were caught red-handed tampering with the data of "very hot days", deleting very hot days of the past from and adding more very hot days in recent years. For example in the BOM’s orginal data set 1953 had the most number of very hot days, and 2011 the least. But this didn‘t fit the agenda of the Climate Scammers - so the BOM manipulated the data to fit their agenda, by quietly substituting the graph with the original data with the new graph containing manipulated data. And when the BOM were busted, they tried to hide the evidence of their data tampering by deleting their altered chart from their website. And now the BOM have a new graph on their website, with even greater tampered data - now according to this new version of history 2011 had more very hot days than 1953. And the BOM get away with this, because they know the ABC will cover-up from them and never report this. And this is the type of skullduggery & malfeasance at the BOM that weak politicians like Blackout Bowen say we can‘t even question.

You could hardly pick a worse example of the alleged climate crisis than sea level rise along the German coast. The sea level rose faster from 1850 to 1930 (1.83 mm/year) than it did from 1931 to 2010 (1.52 mm/year). Below is a location map for the time series of tide gauges and the time series of the 12 longest records in the area, along with an ensemble of the same. Ask yourself how higher CO2 caused a deceleration in sea level rise. And then ask yourself why the chart that @rahmstorf posted a substituted satellite data for the tide gauge data post 1990.

Interesting. The news-making Nepal-Himalaya region has had as-warm or warmer periods than recent decades in the 1600s, 1700s, 1800s. "By one measure, the area in Canada treated with prescribed burns annually collapsed from more than 35,000 hectares in 1990 to 182 hectares in 2023, a 99.5% decline." "Globally, we’re on trend for the lowest burn since the collection of that satellite data began in 2001, and likely the lowest since 1900. In the early 1900s, nearly 4% of global land burned annually, nearly double today’s rate." wsj.com/opinion/despite-what…

8 years of parallel measurements at airfield Lechfeld comparing electronic Pt thermometer (to which virtually all weather bureaus have shifted between 1990 and 2010) with classic LIG thermometer formerly in use. Tmax measured up to 6°C higher in winter and 2-3°C higher during summer (-> new maximum highs), the average Tmax being +0.93°C higher. We all know the inept "homogenization" processes employed don't correct for this, mostly they do the opposite. And the impact on newly set high temperature records is explicitly not adjusted.

De Bilt, Netherlands, original data. 1868 is with 11.65°C annual mean temperature a close second behind 2014 (11.69'°C) as warmest year on record, and tied by 2024. Temperature basically went down from 1870 to 1990 in anti-correlation to 100 years of rising CO2. Then solar surface radiation increased by more than 20W/m2. And the same probably happened from 1800 to 1870.

The illegitimate TOB adjustment alone adds about 0.8°F to USHCN maximum temperatures.
The "green" line represents 100 years of NOAA's USHCN maximum temperature adjustments -- all designed to make sure the resulting temperature graph parallels the rising CO2 trend.

MODTRAN spectroscopic data base gives 2.76 W/m2 (288K, mid-latitude summer, clear sky) for doubling CO2 430 -> 860 ppm and Stefan-Boltzmann (with 30% of the Planck response captured by GHGs) gives +0.70°C warming. That is an upper limit since it is for clear sky only. Including clouds and cooling effects at the poles, the real effect is most probably somewhere between +0.2 and +0.5°C. Total anthropogenic forcing (CO2 and CH4) since pre-industrial is 2.4 W/m2 (clear sky), or +0.6°C warming as upper limit. Clouds and cooling effects included, the real effect is probably between 0 and +0.4°C.

Increasing CO2 has a net GH cooling effect on both poles.
Notholt et al., 2024 (agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.…) determined increasing CO2 cools the Antarctic climate, with a slight (-0.01°C) overall CO2-induced net cooling influence since 1750. Qin, 2026 (helda.helsinki.fi/server/api…) shows increasing CO2 radiatively cools the Arctic too "primarily due to the near-saturation of infrared absorption in the lower atmosphere". If increasing CO2 leads to Antarctic/Arctic radiative cooling, CO2 cannot be a driver of polar ice sheet, glacier, or sea ice melt.
