A love letter to a small athletics track in a Cornish village that I've somehow ended up living right next to. After 30 years covering Olympic stadiums, none of them means as much to me as this one. ➡️ thehomestraight.substack.com…

World Masters Champs - Racing for 🇬🇧 & @NewParAC and its 5th place in a gruelling, hot, humid SteepleChase. Had a good tussle with the Irish and Italian for 3rd over the first km, eventually the Irish pulling away at the end to claim the medal. 5th in the World -happy days

I'm sorry but not putting the Commonwealth games on a free channel was a mistake.

She was great but I did really miss the BBC coverage of the games particularly on athletics and swimming which has always been outstanding in the past.

Jazmin Sawyers is on top of the podium in Glasgow ‼️ In an incredible long jump contest, she records marks of 6.93m and 6.90m to secure the gold medal 🥇 Sawyers, who ruptured her Achilles in 2024 – ruling her out of the Paris Olympics – also claimed Commonwealth long jump silver at Glasgow 2014 🤯

Please BBC, in four years time, can you broadcast it instead of TNT. We didn’t watch it because of this and highlights for just an hour at 10pm on Channel 5 is just not enough. We want to watch it live all day on the BBC . Please???????? 🙏 #commonwealthgames

The trend of telling people they can’t celebrate their marathon if it’s not done in a certain time is dumb. It’s hard to move yourself 26.2 miles at any pace. Period. Anyone that takes that on and finishes is impressive in my book. In all things in life, run your own race.
