Until now, if a child received vaccines on a day when an NI-ABAE Field Officer wasn't present, the caregiver would miss out on our program's transportation support incentive for that day. That gap is now closed. Caregivers can now claim the missed support the next time they return for immunization.

Diphtheria is preventable, and vaccination remains the best protection. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to ensure their children receive all recommended doses of diphtheria-containing vaccines and complete their routine immunization schedule. Know the warning signs, including sore throat, fever, swollen glands in the neck, and difficulty swallowing or breathing. If #diphtheria is suspected, seek medical care immediately. Protect your child and keep their vaccinations up to date. @foundationSFPD @chigari_ngo @Fmohnigeria @NphcdaNG

What's it like to participate in a New Incentives coverage survey? For Christiana, it started with her elder being greeted first by the surveyor, Nafaraddeen. Her son Milar falls within the 6- to 12-month range, making the household eligible for a full survey: questions on vaccination history, health facility visits, recent diarrhea episodes, and treatment given. Christiana responded without hesitation. "Nafaraddeen explained everything clearly in Hausa," she said. "That made me comfortable to answer his questions." The whole conversation took about 12 minutes. Read the full story of a day in the life of a data collector: newincentives.org/blog-posts…

Many parents of zero-dose children aren’t necessarily opposed to vaccination. They may be dealing with distance, misinformation, limited access to reliable information or simply not knowing when and where vaccines are available. Here’s how community outreach in Madagascar is helping tackle these barriers one family at a time: bit.ly/4gol2ps

“In theory, my task may be simple to describe,” says Nafaraddeen, a field officer who is featured in our latest blog. “I arrive at the location, move through the grid, structure by structure, building by building, and collect data that reflects reality, not my convenience.” Learn more about the work of Nafaraddeen and other staff and community members as they help monitor New Incentives' impact at scale: "Measuring Vaccination Coverage: A Day in the Life of a Data Collector": newincentives.org/blog-posts…

During our recent monthly radio program on Iconic FM in Sokoto, our Stakeholder Relations Officer Muhammad Abdullahi was joined by caregiver Zara'u Malami, who volunteered to share her experience with routine immunization and responded to questions from listeners. “My mother gave birth to nine children and vaccinated all of us. Today, we all have children of our own. I am a living witness that the claim that vaccines cause infertility is not true,” Zara'u said. Throughout the program, callers asked questions about routine immunization and the All Babies services. Based on her own experience as a mother, Zara'u encouraged parents to complete their children's vaccination schedules. #AllBabies @chigari_ngo #Sokoto

#ThrowbackThursday! Our founder and CEO, Svetha Janumpalli, created New Incentives in 2011. In 2016, Pratyush Agarwal and Patrick Stadler joined the organization as cofounders, and the idea for cash incentives to encourage childhood vaccinations was incubated. Since then, with the support of partners, funders, and individual donors (and the crucial participation of caregivers, community leaders, and staff), we've piloted and then scaled our program to reach more than 7 million of the most vulnerable babies throughout northern Nigeria!
