organoids, while a powerful tool for studying human biology, lack immune systems, which is a significant limitation. NIH prioritized organoids to model human tissues and diseases in vitro. However, their lack of an immune system hinders their ability to fully recapitulate human physiology, especially for studying immune-related processes or diseases involving immune responses, like Alzheimer’s and Cancer

APOE4 locks microglia in a state of homeostasis, preventing them from clearing amyloid plaque or beckoning astrocytes to help. Deleting APOE4 stirred microglia to dispose of plaques and tau tangles. @BrighamWomens @MayoClinic @hkust
