Might not seem as much, but I managed to run the Haskell Language Server within VSCode with just a neo.json file and an (autogenerated) hie.yaml for @NeoHaskell To be honest I thought that it would take much longer to have IDE support, but its a top prio for everyone

Haskell minus the politics plus modern docs and syntax = dream language. That's why I'm one of the several (3 and a half) people encouraging and promoting @NeoHaskell .

This week, I’m revamping @NeoHaskell 's GitHub labels, cleaning up issues, and merging months of work. Shifting to an iterative approach to build momentum.

Hypersigilating NeoHaskell & speedrunning life. Got married, switched jobs, rethought everything. NeoHaskell isn’t dead, it’s evolving. Iterative, event-driven, making real progress. Read the full chaos here: dev.to/nickseagull/hypersigi…

First `neo build` of an empty project working! No files, no dependencies, no STDOUT or STDERR, but it is working! 🎉

Yes, I think making it appealing to Haskellers is a dead end. Many are too obsessed, I'd say possessed. Only some will appreciate more solutions and the very competition itself. I'd say if you @wollantine already know you are the audience, it's a big win of NeoHaskell already!

I think you would benefit from keeping in mind Haskell programmers is not @NeoHaskell's target audience, but people like me, that would switch to Haskell as default general PL if it wasn't for all the roadblocks. The "we want Elm in the backend" people.

Many folks think the world is a cruel place, but I refuse to accept that. It really warms my heart to receive messages like this. It is definitely on my agenda to keep pushing @NeoHaskell ⏩ Thank you all 💗

Complex systems are harder to evolve, they get cluttered and implicit dependencies tangle everything together, culturally and technically wise. Sometimes, it's simpler to take the knowledge and start anew, like @NeoHaskell is doing.

Given that some users asked for it, I'll deprioritize syntax, and instead will be focusing on the CLI tool for @NeoHaskell

I've been quite silent lately, so I decided to change that, here's the first devlog with the stuff I've been doing lately in @NeoHaskell : dev.to/nickseagull/devlog-00… I'm gonna try writing on Discord more too so everyone can hop into the conversation 📷

Ooh, idea for @NeoHaskell
Idea: compiler that compiles your code but also find places where it can optimize it to make it faster.
