Not sure why more people aren’t scared by this and the many other data points indicating things are not looking good. Scared for the generations who will follow!
California's snowpack historically peaks around April 1 across the Sierra Nevada and southern Cascades, but when state measurements come in just over 3 weeks, there might not be much snow left to measure. Well above normal temperatures are expected for at least the next 10 days, including an extreme heatwave next week that could threaten all-time March highs and potentially send temperatures as high as the upper 60s or even low 70s in Tahoe. California's snowpack peaked on Feb 25 at just 61% of the April 1 normal, over a month earlier than usual. Statewide snowpack could be below 30% of normal on April 1, which could rank it among the top 5 smallest spring snowpacks on record.

Our children are watching a president who calls people “retards” and “piggies.” It’s disgusting.

Here's some good news: Catelin Drey won a special election this week to flip a seat blue in the Iowa Senate and break Republicans' supermajority. This seat had been in Republican hands for 13 years. When we are organized and support strong candidates who are focused on the issues that matter, we can win. Let's keep this going.
With this victory, Democrats break the supermajority Iowa Republicans have in the State Senate. Congratulations, Catelin!

It’s crazy - they’ve had YEARS to plan and closed the bridge with a headache inducing detour. meanwhile Seabright is empty. We’ve started going there one day a week and eating/getting food - and we live in aptos!
