I see people withdrawing from their portfolios and living on distributions with posts and comments.
I target an 8% distribution rate and then say you need 1.3 times that amount. That works out to an actual withdrawal rate of approximately 6.15%. Then, I use guardrails.
Looking at actual academic papers rather than relying solely on the old 4% rule, it appears this approach is in line with the latest academic research.
Sorry, 4% rule people. 😉

And how perfect is this moment… Ocean looking out over the ocean. 🌊🥹💙 A name that was always special, but somehow feels even more perfect when we’re standing here together looking at the sea.
One day Ocean will grow up. He’ll have his own dreams, his own adventures, his own life and his own memories to make. But right now, I just want to slow everything down and enjoy these little moments while I can. Because they really do go too quickly. 🥹
