ALT Graphic with a logo on top for The Worker Experience with Workplace Fairness. On the left, it says, "Episode 6: Workplace Rights For Workers with Disabilities." On the right, there is a picture of Marissa, a white woman with long, dark hair and a patterned blazer. There is text under that says, "Marissa Ditkowsky, Staff Attorney, Tzedek DC."
The need for disability inclusivity in law school goes beyond the classroom and the Bar—law journals, student organizations, and other law-related events should be taking active steps to be more accessible and include disabled law students from the start
a good thread--and another way law journals like VLR can be more inclusive is through their process of admitting students to the journal. I was unable to try out for a journal during 1L due to not being able to receive adequate disability accommodations in time @NatDLSA

The @WhiteHouse Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights cited @NatDLSA's report on the administration of bar exams and concerns that disabled test takers would be more likely to be flagged. Several of our organizers worked on this NDLSA report. #CripTheLaw

For @TeenVogue’s Disability (In)justice series, I wrote about the many ways standardized tests are ableist and ultimately harm students with disabilities.

Disabled law students, graduates, and attorneys: if you’d be interested in providing input on accessibility concerns for an alternative path to licensure in Oregon, please email [email protected] by Saturday!
This will be a unique opportunity to help #CripTheLaw!
Even better, the developers have come to us with that goal in mind.
This month, there will be a 60-90 minute session in August with Prof. Debby Merritt from the Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law, where we review the pathway proposal… (3/?)
…and provide feedback related to accessibility. There's also a brief planning meeting prior to the session run by Anders Miller, NDLSA Director of Licensure.
If interested in assisting, email [email protected] and Anders will follow up. Please apply by Sat 8/13. Thanks! (4/4)

Sending nothing but love to #LawTwitter & the law grads/lawyers taking the bar exam today, especially the disabled folks who have to take this inaccessible and ableist rite of passage on #ADA32. Standardized tests will never be indicative of your worth as a human or lawyer.
