در حیابآباد زندگی میکردیم. صاحبخانهی ما از منطقهی بنو بود و ما او را به اسم نیکصاحب میشناختیم. میگفت که کارمند بازنشستهی دولتی است. او پشتون بود و اسم کاملش را فراموش کردهام. منزل اول و دوم از هم جدا بودند و دهلیز مشترکی نداشتند. در منزل اول یک اتاق و یک تشناب را برای خودش قفل کرده بود و منزل دوم را همراه با تختبام به ما کرایه داده بود. او هر چند هفته یک بار برای چند ساعت یا یک روز به خانهاش میآمد، اما هیچگاه بدون اجازه از ما که کرایهنشین بودیم داخل نمیشد. اول در میزد، بعد مطمئن میشد که مرد خانه حضور دارد، اجازه میگرفت و سپس وارد میشد. خانوادهی برادر شهیدم و پسرش به اسم شورش با من زندگی میکردند. صاحبخانه اسم شورش را درست تلفظ نمیتوانست و با صدای بلند و به پشتو میگفت: «شوروو، زنها در راه نباشند که من به حویلی میآیم.» او آدم باشرفی بود. گاهی که مادرم را جایی میبردم، به احترام زنها به تاکسی یا ریکشای ما احترام گذاشته میشد. من از فرهنگ بسیار محافظهکارانهی پشاور خیلی خوشم میآمد. در آنجا احساس بیگانگی نمیکردیم. حالا مسائل سیاسی ما با پاکستان معلوم است، اما از مردم و فرهنگ خیبرپختونخواه جز خاطرهی خوب چیزی به یاد ندارم.

Ok guys, I’ve been looking into Malala Yousafzai’s charity, the Malala Fund and I have some questions.
According to its 2024–2025 financial reports:
Revenue: $16.48 MILLION
Expenses: $23.34 MILLION
Net assets: $42.97 MILLION
That means the charity spent approximately $6.86 MILLION MORE than it brought in‼️
And then there are the executive compensation figures:
CEO: Approximately $372,000
Chief Adviser: Approximately $320,000
COO: Approximately $241,000
The charity’s tax filings also disclose FIRST CLASS or PRIVATE travel for officers or key employees. ✈️ WTF?!
But here’s what I’d like to know:
How much of that $18.94 MILLION in program spending actually reaches girls and local educational organizations?
How much goes toward salaries, consultants, advocacy campaigns, and travel?
What measurable educational results can donors independently verify?
And why did a charity with $16.48 million in annual revenue spend over $23 million that year?!? 🤯
When you’re raising millions in the name of educating vulnerable girls, I don’t think asking where the money goes is unreasonable.
Charity should be about the cause, not the celebrity attached to it.
It now makes sense why Malala looked so comfortable dining at Claridge’s. Malala lives a life like a rockstar.
