Stability of emergent time periodicity in a few-body interacting system iopscience.iop.org/article/1… We examine the onset and resilience of emergent #timeperiodicity in a few-body all-to-all interacting Lipkin–Meshkov–Glick #manybody model, where one of the constituents is locally in contact with a thermal bath. Employing both a #collisionmodelframework and a suitable #timecontinuousdescription, we show that stable time-periodic behavior can only be exhibited when the bath acts as a purely #dissipative channel. We assess the role that the microscopic interactions within the system play, establishing that for the all-to-all model the introduction of temperature leads to a melting of the emergent time periodicity, in contrast to stable long-time behavior which can be maintained for nearest neighbor XXZ type interactions. I am happy to see this out in the @NJPhysics.

Proud to have helped bring this previously obscure-sounding tool to the forefront of quantum science. The Kirkwood–Dirac quasiprobability is being used so widely now, we had to publish a review about it! @NJPhysics iopscience.iop.org/article/1…

Honouring the incredible legacy of Alexander Marian Bradshaw CBE. As the co-founder and first Editor-in-Chief of NJP, Alexander was instrumental in its creation back in 1998. His visionary leadership transformed NJP from a pioneering experiment into a trailblazing success in open access physics publishing, even before the term “open access” was coined. @PhysicsNews
🌻Saying farewell to Alexander M. Bradshaw, co-founder of the New Journal of Physics @NJPhysics and a true science legend, who passed away on October 10 at age 80. From pioneering surface physics as director at the Berlin Fritz Haber Institute @fhi_mpg_de to the leading fusion research at the famous @PlasmaphysikIPP Max Planck Institute for #PlasmaPhysics in Garching, he shaped modern science as we know it. He inspired countless young scientists with his passion and wisdom. His gentle demeanor and diplomatic skills will be deeply missed.
