That was as clinical of a win as you’re likely to ever see. Caps players aggressive, committed and unselfish across the board. Makes you realize just how far away the Kraken really are.
So we flew all the way to Detroit to support the Kraken. This is tempting me to end my Dry January early @KrakenPod.
BUT my 6 year old did get a puck from Matty! So there’s still some joy here in Motown.

Brought the 5yo to “Defend the Deep” one final time this season. If that doesn’t work, we’ll just “Dine Around the Deep” and call it good. 🤷🏻♂️
Certainly feels like the death blow for the playoff hopes. Kraken players showing it. Had every chance to get this to a 3 game deficit (potentially 2 with game in hand) and it’s now basically 5 games.
Shit.
Wore my wings jersey, kiddo wore her Kraken jersey. We high fived after every goal and I promised her the Kraken would score next every time the Wings did. And hey, everyone got a point!
As a Detroit Red Wings podcast we are very conflicted on today’s matchup but suppose we will be rooting for the #SeaKraken.
I am irrationally excited about this trade as a #LGRW supporter. So excited I’ll probably buy a jersey, just like I did for Calle Jarnkrok. I hope he sticks, but wouldn’t be shocked if this is just a one year rental that maybe extends a second year.
Also a fun fact: Tatar was one of the first Wings we interviewed on the podcast over at @TPLhockey. I probably still have the audio somewhere.
After fighting with the site for an hour, I can now say that my wife and daughter did not get tickets to do the @seattlekraken T-Mobile Park season ticket holder skate. Can’t wait to break that news to her tonight. 🫠
This game is rough on all fronts. Players are tired. Crowd is tired (of losing). Probably the most exciting moment was when the crowd had to sing the anthem. Need a big third period effort and one of those goal things. #SeaKraken
