Agriculture industry stakeholders gathered Friday to celebrate the grand opening of the Northeast Rice Research and Extension Center in Harrisburg. Governor @SarahHuckabee, Center Director Tim Burcham and Farm Bureau President Dan Wright all spoke about the importance and impact the facility will have in northeast Arkansas. Vital research will be conducted to better help producers in the area, as well as provide extension-based education on the value of Arkansas rice. #ArkAg #ArkansasRice

It was great to have groups from both Australia and Uruguay stop by the station this week🌾
These groups were eager to learn about rice production in the U.S. as well as the water saving practices and greenhouse gas mitigation research that is taking place here at the station.

Here is a little impressionist artwork from yesterday's planting at NERREC. We had four project groups simultaneously planting yesterday. This is the first planting window we have had in a couple of weeks, and it lasted one day before 1.27 inches of rainfall last night.

Windows have been installed, the exterior is going up, labs are being put together and the education greenhouse is almost complete!
