Nearly 300 beer and beverage professionals gathered to share ideas and grow as leaders at the fifth annual Making Moves following NBWA's Convention.
Through two days of programming centered on the theme "Built for the Ride Ahead," attendees explored industry trends, developed their leadership skills and gained confidence to put bold ideas into action, while strengthening connections among women across all three industry tiers.

We are excited to announce NBWA’s 2026-2027 Board Chair: Luke Dahlheimer, President of Dahlheimer Beverage.
Luke is a third-generation distributor, community leader and former firefighter. He brings extensive industry experience, including serving three terms as chair of the Minnesota Beer Wholesalers Association.
“Let’s continue to show the country what independent beverage distributors have always done best: connect people, build communities, and deliver value every single day,” he told attendees at NBWA’s 89th Annual Convention.
Cheers to Luke and the year ahead!
“Beer connects us.” In his final remarks as NBWA Chair, Steve Beykirch reflected on beer's ability to bring people together and urged distributors to continue creating opportunities for meaningful in-person connection.
“Beer is one of the best reasons people put down the phone and actually show up. In a world that keeps finding new ways to keep people apart, let's give friends and family more reasons to connect over a beer.”
Thank you for your leadership, Steve!

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, NBWA remembers the lives lost and forever changed that day and honors the heroes who risked their lives to save others.
Twenty-five years ago today, as America's beer wholesalers gathered at NBWA's Annual Convention, Coors Brewing Company CEO Pete Coors took the stage to deliver a different address than he had planned.
“We live in a great country,” he told the stunned crowd. “Freedom to speak your mind, freedom to enjoy prosperity and to do the job you want. But freedom isn’t free. Sometimes, we may forget that. Maybe today is an awakening of sorts, but it sure is a tough lesson.”
Pete’s words remain true today as NBWA and its members pause to remember those we lost 25 years ago.
