Ahead of Game 2 between the #76ers and #Raptors, lets look back on what worked for the Sixers in Game 1. The obvious that comes to mind, Tyrese Maxey and his offensive explosion to score 38 points in the W. But Maxey didn't do it all on his own...

Bulls switch everything on defense. Only way to do it without a rim protector . Having Lonzo + Caruso would make them pretty scary defensively
I’m not sure many people realize this, but the bulls are a top 5 defense.

Sixth man of the year. Scoring leader. MVP…. And now assist leader.
James Harden wants more respect “I don’t know what they want from me. You know what I mean? I’ve been doing this thing for a very long time. I’ve been one of the most consistent players in this league since I’ve been in.” (Via @PompeyOnSixers )

Disagree on Thybulle. 1.) He was given every opportunity to carve out a role - 20mpg. 2.) 5 games is a small sample size 3.) players shoot better w/ the pressure off playing for a 12 seed. 4.) it became painfully obvious he couldn’t be on the floor in a playoff series
Sixers’ treatment of Thybulle and Isaiah has crossed the rubicon of embarrassing to disqualifying. You can’t make idiotic blunders and pretend they don’t matter

This might be the first move Morey has made in Philly that I STRONGLY dislike. Isaiah Joe is a rotational shooter in todays NBA. Would have liked to see Furkan cut before him…. but have to assume Furk’s (tradeable) contract played a role here. Isaiah Joe will be on an NBA roster
The 76ers are waiving guard Isaiah Joe and center Charles Bassey, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

📍👇🏽 - Braun was my favorite (late first) projected 3&D role player in this draft . He is showing some stuff early on for the #Nuggets
Christian Braun / Kansas / Wing Strengths: High IQ knowing his role as a complimentary wing - efficient when taking shots. Strong, athletic finisher around the rim. Can attack closeouts quick and hard off the catch. Good slasher.

Should be noted that this is a team that starts Kyrie & likes to use Ben as a small ball 5. Getting Warren back should be a big help, but I think I would prioritize playing Claxton much more (even at the detriment of Simmons minutes)

The NBA season is way to long for one game overreactions like this
Fully believe Knicks are now 2nd-best team in East, which is admittedly an insane thing to say. Boston, Philly and Cleveland should want no parts of them, especially if they keep scaling back RJ’s minutes

Gobert may have the worst. Or at least stands out the most
What bigs have the best/worst hands in the league? (Maybe the most underrated element of a big man’s game)

Harden’s post entry passes to Embiid make life so much easier when Joel works to gain post position. Not sure Sixers had any other player besides Simmons who could pass to the post consistently like this

Not sure if this is a hot take or not , but Darius Garland is a better shooter then Trae Young
Everyone has seen how well Shake Milton has played sans Harden & Maxey in the starting lineup. Even so, some of these stats (per CleaningTheGlass) really stand out . Let’s thread it 👇🏽

Shake Milton is in the 97th percentile in terms of FG% at the rim. (Next to some good company)

Sometimes efficiency and accuracy % are heavily skewed by low frequency , making the stats hard to compare w/o context . Not only is Shake in the 97th% in terms of accuracy , he’s also been in the 91st% in frequency.
Biggest takeaway from last nights #Sixers #Nets game - the amount of times Philly picked on Joe Harris every possession down the stretch. Think this killed Brooklyn in their series with the #Celtics last year. Just too small.

Not sure what role he’s truly looking for in the NBA. Multiple teams have showed him they weren’t willing to expand his role… Not sure where he goes from here
“I would love to play more. I’ve voiced that several times, but I just play my role,” - Christian Wood (Via ESPN)
Yeah, this is pretty wild.
Steph Curry being in this list is absolutely insane 🤯

We praise the #Warriors front office so much but their biggest Ls aren’t talked about enough. Going 0/3 here and then doubling down by NOT making any trades has shortened their window, considerably. The fans were probably right on this one
The Warriors had the #2, 7 & 14 picks in b2b drafts with a chance to extend their dynasty, and it looks like they went 0/3 (Moody and Kuminga might not end up being complete misses, but they certainly don't look like hits)
