Fascinating walkshop at @NACTO Minneapolis. The Lake St BRT corridor is at the intersection of cost effective delivery, multi agency coordination, and recovery from traumatic events like the George Floyd killing & uprising and the ICE occupation.
From bus lanes to signal priority, we're building the first comprehensive inventory of transit priority programs across the U.S. and Canada.
We need data from ALL agencies—even if you don't have a program yet!

How much transit priority is actually happening in the U.S. and Canada?
Right now, it’s hard to tell. No one is tracking these programs across state and regional lines.
NACTO is changing that with a new transit priority inventory—and we need your help.
The system is critically in need of more e-bikes and mechanics, but has been limited in its ability to expand within its funding structure.
Now, thanks to over $11m in grants, the City and its nonprofit operator, Blue Krewe, are laying the groundwork for long-term success.
.@CityOfNOLA plans to use an infusion of federal funds to expand micromobility options, spread the joy of biking, and build a sense of public ownership of @BlueBikesNOLA, its community-run bike share system.

Cities can deliver federally-funded projects that make a tangible difference.
In the year since NACTO member Columbus, OH used SS4A funding for a safety demonstration project, excessive speeding on the corridor is down by 89% and crashes have halved.

We can't lower traffic deaths without lowering speeds.
Lower speeds mean safer, more vibrant streets. And healthier, happier cities.

"The new NACTO document even put a protected intersection on its cover — a reference, says director of policy and practice Stefanie Seskin, to this edition’s emphasis that cycling infrastructure goes beyond the bike lane."

“The @betterbikeshare Roundtable affirmed the need to center lived experience. It also challenged us to think critically about the language we use—what we mean by ‘justice,’ ‘mobility,’ and ‘community’—and who gets left out when we don’t.”
