The Portland Airport (PDX) expansion featuring mass timber is absolutely stunning. The wood takes a place could otherwise feel overly sterile/clinical and adds a sense of warmth and depth that is more inviting. – at Baltimore, MD
Starting Monday morning by being almost run over twice by cars walking to work. Yes, I had the pedestrian signal and I was at a major crosswalk in downtown Baltimore. As someone who lives and works here, it's extremely hostile to anyone not in a car. We must do better.
Very excited for this museum expansion/relocation! Raising nearly $30 million dollars to do it won't be easy. Nonetheless, the project is picking up momentum to preserve Baltimore's transit history for generations to come.

“Broadly speaking, they want the same thing: more good transportation options that don’t [leave] a car as the only choice — or basically, the forced choice.”

If you need a laugh, this SNL UK sketch about The Tube, is probably relatable to anyone who rides transit on a regular basis.

I'm meant for something greater... I can feel it in my soul. The destination is not yet in focus but I'm certainly on a journey. I must not be afraid to step in and step up to that greater version of myself. – at Baltimore, MD

this is genuinely the best info screen i’ve ever seen on public transit anywhere. every time i get an r211 train i have to take a few moments to admire how well done it is

ALT the info screen above the doors showing which line you’re on, what stations are next, what lines you can transfer to, what traincar you’re on, what direction the train is moving in relation to the train diagram, where the exits and elevators are in the upcoming station, and where surface streets are above you
Shhh, don't tell anyone there's a train between DC and Baltimore for only $9! No driving, no stress, no searching for and paying for parking... Sit back and relax.

Our current reality makes it easier to support and fund roadway expansion. It's an issue across the political spectrum. However, we simply can't build our way out of congestion. One less lane, at least one more train... Or bus, or bike etc...

Pennsylvania is increasing the frequency of their daily Amtrak service between Pittsburgh and NYC November 18th, there are still THREE Midwestern Amtrak routes with only 1 daily round trip, 2 of which are in Michigan.
Midwest needs more rolling stock and more frequent service!!!

Some U.S. light rail operators are looking at longer trains to increase capacity. This 190 ft concept unit is about double the length of a standard single car train. Space that would have been taken up by end cabs can now be used to hold more riders.
