South Western Railway, Mysuru Division, is converting conventional rakes of six train services into modern LHB rakes, enhancing passenger comfort, safety and travel experience. The revised coach compositions will be implemented in phases from 20 to 24 October 2026.

ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಭಾಗವು ಆರು ರೈಲು ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಬೋಗಿಗಳ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಆಧುನಿಕ LHB ಬೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಆರಾಮ, ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಯಾಣದ ಅನುಭವ ಉತ್ತಮಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದೆ. ಪರಿಷ್ಕೃತ ಬೋಗಿಗಳ ಸಂಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು 20ರಿಂದ 24 ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 2026ರ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಂತ ಹಂತವಾಗಿ ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

Newly constructed quarters at Ashokapuram Workshop, Mysuru, were inaugurated by DRM/Mysuru Shri Mudit Mittal, in the presence of ADRM Shri Shammas Hameed, CWM Shri Sandeep Kumar Verma, CPM/GSU Shri Anand Bharati, and branch officers.
The new residential facilities will provide improved amenities and a better living environment for railway staff.

I have some great news for people of Bengaluru and Mumbai.
From last 30 years, our two great cities were connected by only one super fast train -Udyan Express. Even that train took more than 24 hrs to reach. This forced most people to inevitably take bus or flights. Travel was expensive and uncomfortable.
There was consistent demand from people of both the cities to start more train services. I had raised this issue multiple times in Parliament, PAC meetings, with Railway Board Chairman and with the Railway Minister, over the last four years. It is just baffling that such important economic nodes as Bengaluru and Mumbai didn’t have more than one direct super fast train from so long.
Finally, like he is delivering on many important promises for the nation, our most dynamic and erudite Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav Ji has made more super fast trains possible by increasing lane capacity in both Bengaluru and Mumbai Railway stations. I also thank our own Sri V. Somanna Ji for all his support.
In the coming days, rail travel between the two cities will increase and will benefit lakhs of people.

Jnanabharati halt will get a 95-metre platform extension along with passenger amenities such as toilets, platform shelters, & drinking water facilities in next 12 to 18months.
This work will enable longer trains to halt at GNB, strengthening seamless integration with Namma Metro

🚨 South Western Railway has cancelled, partially cancelled, diverted, rescheduled & regulated several train services from June 16 due to yard remodelling & major safety upgrade works at KSR Bengaluru City station.
"The project will enable simultaneous reception & dispatch of trains on the Bengaluru Cantonment grid, extend Platform 7 from 460 metres to 600 metres to accommodate full-length trains, provide a non-platform line for freight train operations, improve signalling for simultaneous train movements towards Mysuru & Bengaluru Cantonment, and upgrade existing Solid State Interlocking (SSI) system to Electronic Interlocking (EI), enhancing operational efficiency and safety" : @SWRRLY

MMLP Kadakola, Mysore marks a new milestone in Domestic rail logistics.
CONCOR’s Greenfield terminal at MMLP, Kadakola, Mysuru, has successfully commenced its domestic outbound container rake operations with the maiden train movement from GCCK to JSLS (M/s Jindal Stainless Ltd.), Odisha. This development marks a significant step towards strengthening multimodal logistics connectivity between South and Eastern India.
The inaugural rake carried 80 TEUs, transporting nearly 2200 MT of semi-processed industrial inputs from the mineral-rich Mysore region to the steel manufacturing hubs of the East, covering a distance of approximately 1750 km. The initiative highlights the growing role of rail-based logistics in enabling efficient, sustainable, and large-scale industrial movement across the country from Mysuru Area.
