So, when I level the accusation at Sabine @skdh, that she has made Ai her god, rather than deny, she justifies. Now I'm wondering what percentage of the population feels the same as Sabine. Bloody hell.
People say the same of religion. You have simply made AI your god.

Perhaps, however that is not it's intent. Those who try to read science into religion do both a disservice. The point is that the great subject of religion, God, is essentially ineffable to us and requires faith. In the same way you advocate faith in AI, nature being at some point, ineffable to human minds.

religion does not give us useful, predictive descriptions of nature

If we want to continue progress in science, we must be prepared to acknowledge that the correct description of nature will eventually simply be too complicated for humans to understand. I do not think it is wise to make human understanding a requirement. AI is the way forward.

Grok's first image of me, based on my posts.

Got bored and asked Grok who I look like in different contexts. In Michael Moorcock's universe I am Elric of Melniboné. In Shakespeare I am Prospero, Orpheus in Greek mythology. "Plotinus (with a strong nod to Jung) the philosopher, and William Blake the poet. Johann Sebastian Bach the composer, and Leonard Cohen the modern songwriter. And now I have anxiety. 🙂
Hey @Grok Based on my entire post and comment history, what anime character best matches my personality? Create a picture to go along with it.

Interesting. Now I have to watch it. Fortunately, there is an English dub version of season 1 on YT. youtu.be/oXpgvkvKzhw?si=fGRI…

Ginko from Mushishi. Your poetic posts on twilight consciousness, long shadows, avoiding possession, spiritual theurgy, Jungian individuation, and Christian depth match his calm wanderer who navigates ethereal forces between living and spirit worlds with quiet wisdom.

I can't decide between two: Part of me says Critical Thinking, in large part because social media has shown us rather decisively, that maybe most people, do not know how to think. The other is Music - learn how to play an instrument, Theory, Music History. Not sure which one will have greater long term positive impact.
if you could add one class to the school curriculum, what would it be?

"Not everyone is a nice person, you know?" I'm reminded of Westworld. When people visit Westworld, and take on the idea that they can do whatever they want to the androids in the park, with no consequences, torture, murder, rape ensues. Sadism is much closer to the surface in us humans than we would want to admit.

Set in a fictional place in the North West Territories called Lynx River. It's beautiful.

I am in favour of public executions, in certain instances. Funny how life can change a person. I am by nature a kind of soft, sensitive person, and earlier in life I was against the death penalty. Now, I think publicized blood eagle should be a capital punishment option, in certain instances. What happened? Well, integration of the shadow happened. Even though I am by nature soft and sensitive, I realize that life is not like that, and sometimes, a certain brutality is needed. In fact, if we are to keep a society in which people such as myself can thrive, sometimes a brutal barbarism is essential, vital. It's not that I would enjoy such a thing. No sane person should - and that's the point. Some crimes are so egregious, that justice itself requires a brutal consequence.
