I welcome ÂŁ1m for Community Transport, but 13 new minibuses replace just 13 of 27 priority vehicles.
As a disabled person in rural Tyrone, I know accessible transport is essential to independence.
We need long-term funding, not just new vehicles.

Behind Dermot stands a smiling man wearing glasses, a green fleece and a yellow high-visibility vest. The minibus displays the slogan “Making The Community Mobile” and the website www.dartpartnership.co.uk. The photograph was taken outdoors on a wet, overcast day.

I know MLAs don't set their own pay. But the contrast is stark.
Their pay can rise while disabled people and those in poverty are told there's no money for basic support.

Something different at Awakening Tyrone in Omagh 🌿
A day that opened my eyes, heart and mind. Some experiences I'll keep personal.
I also spoke for @DPACNIreland & @Dis_PPL_Protest on welfare cuts and assisted dying.
A few access issues, but a fantastic day. 💜 – at Gortin, Northern Ireland

The social care system here is not fit for purpose. Disabled people and older people who use services should be the priority for Government and trusts. Instead priority is cutting costs and keeping private providers happy. Political failure writ large. xitter.cf/1kilroywashere/status/…

This would be a wonderful legacy for David.
#ReopenILF
Been thinking of a fitting tribute to my friend.
David was a recipient of the Independent Living Fund, a Fund he fought to keep. His death means a step closer to the ILF disappearing.
Reopening ILF to new people will honour his life and legacy.

This is a disgraceful response from an elected representative.
Dismissing Disabled people’s legitimate access concerns because pedestrianisation suits everyone else is ableism.

The car parks around the boundary of the city centre were designated for blue badge holders only, so we repurposed the car parks for that reason.

How the fuck is this even a story.
@Telegraph Scrapping the barrel to find new ways of whipping up hate. Discounts on sex toys no less. How very dare we.
Private discount schemes aimed at disabled people are offering price cuts on holidays, luxury items and even adult toys, according to an investigation by the Telegraph.
Critics have raised concerns that the discounts could incentivise people to claim benefits, while bosses of the schemes say the discounts are privately funded and helps to offset the additional costs people with disabilities face.Â
Coronation Street star Cherylee Houston, who raises awareness and advocates for disabled people, joined Charlotte Hawkins, Richard Madeley and Angela Rippon on the GMB sofa this morning. She explained that many people with disabilities not only face extra costs, but have also been subject to cuts.
