Report these hashtags: #/PapergamesRuinsCNgaming #/叠纸游戏有辱国格 -- (literally means, “PaperGames disgraces the dignity of the nation.” An American would never come up with this hashtag.) #/PapergamesDisgracesCN -- Again, something an American would NEVER come up with, nor have the right to even fucking say. Second: there are plenty of legitimate hashtags people can use: #TheWorldLovesValko #AmericansLoveValko #YTMRuinsCNGaming #敖尹拯救中国游戏 #全世界都爱敖尹 #WeLoveValko Third, we need to have a very real conversation about what is happening here. We have gone out of our way to respect Chinese platforms, Chinese cultural context, Chinese holidays, and the domestic concerns of our CN sisters throughout this entire campaign. So if JJP are now posing as Americans in order to manufacture support for a hashtag and make it appear as though American fans are behind something we are not actually supporting, that crosses a line. It is deceptive, and it is deeply disrespectful to the international fans whose identities you are borrowing to make your campaign look bigger or more legitimate than it actually is. And I want to be extremely clear: I am not talking about our CN sisters as a whole. We know perfectly well that many of our CN sisters have treated us with respect and have nothing to do with this. I am talking specifically about the behavior we continue to see associated with JJP. At some point, we have to stop making excuses for conduct simply because we share the same ultimate goal. If you are part of that circle and you don’t agree with impersonation, astroturfing, harassment, or deliberately misleading international fans, then separate yourself from it. Build something better.
