Today in Windsor Castle, former MP for Suffolk Coastal and ex-Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Therese Coffey, was made a Dame for her services that further polluted our rivers and deepened the nation’s health inequalities.

Sunak's 12 Freeports and 74 Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are privately governed, the Govt is giving State Aid (that's public money) to companies of their choice within these extraterritorial carve-outs, these zones are tax-exempt for 10 years! Know that State Aid in the EU prohibits Govt's in member states from giving preferential treatment to companies because it distorts markets creating an unlevel playing field. This sabotages the UK rejoining the EU. The Govt's REUL (Retained EU Law) bill revoked +600 pieces of law on 31st Dec 2023, the 3 main areas targeted were employment rights, food safety, and environmental protections, 1000's more will be shredded by 2026. The Govt's REUL report states EU ports are publicly owned and unsuitable for the UK economy. Labour MPs, Mayors, councillors, Lords, and Baronesses sit on the Freeports consortia in England, Scotland, and Wales, and are 100% backing these corporate zones of exception. All public services and councils will be absorbed by the asset classes, on top of Gove issuing Compulsory Purchase Orders that apply to business, agricultural, and residential properties as part of his Leveling Up scam. The UK is being privatised and transformed into 1 big tax haven, and it's all down to Brexit and a neoliberal duopoly, there's your British sovereignty right there, sold off to the highest bidders. Game Over UK. xitter.cf/EuropeanPowell/status/…

@Guardian again ignoring Truss's small states experiment. Her full-fat SEZs cost the taxpayer billions, 74 SEZs and 12 Freeports will privatise the UK and carve out extraterritorial criminal enterprise zones, legalized lawlessness in the form of zone fever theguardian.com/us-news/2024…

The Peter Bone case is another reminder that since 2019, there have been more Tory MPs suspended for sexual misconduct than voters convicted of ID fraud

It’s one thing for a party to change leader while in power. It’s quite another for it to completely disregard the manifesto on which it was elected. Insofar as Truss has no mandate for what she is doing, hers is effectively an unelected government. It does not have our consent. – at Scotland, United Kingdom

There is much talk happening on how to solve the so-called cost-of-living crisis. Most of it fails to recognise that the problem is much bigger than that: the whole economy is in meltdown. None seems to address the cost of energy itself. A thread on the last, vital, point….

Liz Truss started out as a LibDem advocating the abolition of the monarchy, then changed to a centre right one-nation tory, before becoming a hard-line brexiter. There's nothing like a politician with convictions. And she's nothing like a politician with convictions
