A pause, and he looks to his throat. "Ya hurt your vocal cords or somethin? A pal a mine back in boston had his throat cut, couldn't speak anymore. So he just made th' shapes with his mouth an' we read his lips. It didnt always work, but we got used t' it after awhile."
