Traitor of the year award goes to RMK.
I have noted with deep concern the conduct of the ADC campaign team. The attacks directed at me, our presidential candidate His Excellency Peter Obi, and our party, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), are unnecessary and unhelpful. Rather than focusing on presenting the competence, credibility, and capacity of their own candidate as we have consistently done by placing our credentials and record of achievements before Nigerians, the ADC Presidential Campaign Council appears intent on creating mischief against our party and ticket. This includes attempts to portray us as working for the ruling party or to suggest that we may withdraw from the race in favour of the ADC candidate at the last minute. The ADC-PCC would be better served directing its energy toward rebutting the serious allegations levelled against their candidate by the Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, instead of targeting me and His Excellency Peter Obi. We are aware that the ADC-PCC may try to mislead our supporters on the eve of the election by claiming that we intend to withdraw in their favour. Let me state clearly and unequivocally: we will not withdraw our candidature for the ADC or any other party. We remain confident in our capacity, competence, and readiness to lead Nigeria. The OK ticket is neither working for nor acting on behalf of the APC or any of its candidates. We see no possibility or reason to withdraw from the presidential race in favour of the ADC candidate or any other. These claims are unfounded and should be treated as such. The APC-led government has failed Nigerians. The ADC offers no better alternative. We believe the OK ticket presents a credible and viable option, backed by proven capacity, a strong track record, credibility, and broad support across both Northern and Southern Nigeria. It is a healing ticket committed to uniting our country and tackling critical challenges in security, education, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, the economy, and other key sectors. We believe the NDC remains the most formidable and viable opposition party in the country. I therefore urge all our supporters and well-meaning Nigerians to continue working toward the victory of our great party. Nigeria will be OK. - RMK

We saw life without Mbappe against Man City, Atletico,Benfica and other big dogs and Vini was the Pivot in all these matches and Mbappe still never lost his spot when he came back. But now you want Vini benched? The agenda is laughable. As laughable as Mbappe on the left wing🤣

Diomande’s crazy pressing and Endrick’s work rate somehow made Mbappé’s laziness less noticeable yesterday. They were working so hard that you wouldn’t even notice whether Mbappé was pressing or not.

Yes you're right, while Mbappe was laughing at 'PUTA MADRID' chants and extending his 200+ mil euros contract, Vini, the 'unplanned guy' was winning the biggest trophies for Real Madrid and kissing the badge at every moment possible.
the only thing that let vinicius step into the spotlight at real madrid is that pérez had lost hope of signing mbappé, so he invested in him. if mbappé had arrived in 2022, vini would've been a bench player or a supporting cast to mbappé and benzema, nothing more. truth hurts.

The Illusion of Governance vs. The Architecture of Rescue: Why the APC Era Has Ended in Policy Bankruptcy and Why the ADC Is the Inevitable Future. To every discerning Nigerian, every struggling entrepreneur, every parent staring down food inflation, and every citizen yearning for an uncompromised democracy: The ruling party wants you to believe that the current hardship is an unavoidable sacrifice on the road to prosperity. It is not. It is the predictable outcome of administrative shock therapy, unbuffered market dogma, and a total collapse of constitutional purpose. Let us return to first principles. 1. The Constitutional Void Section 14(2)(b) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) states with absolute clarity: "The security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government." When a government cannot secure your transit routes, cannot curb banditry, cannot defend the purchasing power of your daily wage, and allows energy and food costs to climb beyond human tolerance it has abdicated its core constitutional reason for existing. Desperate political maneuvers such as attempting to compromise the institutional neutrality of electoral bodies and relying on state instruments to suppress political dissent are not signs of strength. They are the classic hallmarks of an incumbent establishment terrified of an unrigged public referendum. 2. Policy Contrast: Destructive Shock Therapy vs. Strategic Competence The fundamental difference between the current administration and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is not rhetoric. It is economic literacy and execution capability. THE APC’S CONSUMPTION SQUEEZE vs THE ADC’S PRODUCTION REVOLUTION 🔴 APC• Unbuffered fuel price shocks that crushed logistics & retail • Free-fall currency float that triggered stagflation • Punitive taxes on a shrinking formal sector and SMEs • Soaring governance costs & debt amid ad-hoc palliatives 🟢 ADC• Sequenced, domestic refining-backed energy transition • Managed, industrial-focused monetary & FX stability • Supply-side relief, SME shields & war on institutional waste • Legally binding Anti-Abandonment codes & lean state One path squeezes consumption. The other builds production. Where the ruling party pulled state cushions before local productive capacity was ready shuttering factories and wiping out the middle class the ADC’s Orange Book provides a disciplined, humane blueprint: Build the production base first, stabilize the real sector, slash the cost of governance, and defend domestic purchasing power. 3. The African Democratic Congress: Rooted in the "Orange Book" The ADC is not merely an alternative platform; it is a structural renewal. Through the Orange Book, the ADC rejects transactional politics and ad-hoc manifestos that vanish the day after elections: Anti-Abandonment Doctrine: Legally binds governments to finish inherited capital projects, putting an end to trillions of Naira in abandoned, rotting public assets. Integrity in Statecraft: Establishes non-negotiable codes of conduct to eradicate bureaucratic plunder and restore state funds to the schools, hospitals, and feeder roads that drive real human development. Real-Sector Revitalization: Replaces reactive demand suppression with targeted agricultural logistics, decentralized energy solutions, and industrial hubs that create durable jobs rather than palliative dependency. 4. Leadership Built on Concrete Precedent Nigeria no longer has the luxury of on-the-job training. The national rescue mission spearheaded by the Atiku Abubakar – Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi platform unites the twin engines of national economic design and relentless execution: Strategic Economic Liberalization: From laying the foundation for Nigeria’s telecommunications revolution to institutionalizing public procurement standards and debt-relief architecture, this is statecraft tested at the highest sovereign levels. Capital Infrastructure Delivery: From modernizing critical rail corridors to overhauling basic educational and healthcare facilities, this is executive courage that translates national allocations into physical assets on the ground. The Verdict A party that governs by economic shock, evades constitutional accountability, and relies on electoral capture cannot build a modern nation. The era of transactional excuses is over. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) offers the institutional rigor, the moral compass, and the tested leadership to rescue the Republic. Read the Blueprint. Reclaim the Constitution. Stand with the ADC. @ADCNig @ADCVanguard_ @BalarabeR_ @CRA_Advocacy @atiku

Please continue supporting this cause, no amount is too small. Your ₦100/₦200 will go a long way. Your retweets serve as donations too. I’ll be visiting her today to get things for her and her baby, insha’Allah. JazakAllah khair for your donations.
Please retweet. Her name is Hafsat, she lived with her mom, and her stepdad, who’s, from what I’ve known so far, is a very complicated and difficult person. He normally beats her, not only her, his own children too, and the funny thing is they all not kids, for Hafsat, she’s 28yrs, for the rest, one is even 30+. He’s a kind of father that doesn’t play with his kids at all, doesn’t talk to neighbors or anyone, he’s very very tough, even on Hafsat’s mother, his only wife. One day, Hafsat did something to him and he started beating her, I think that happened during the day, and even later at night, he decided to beat her again, which led to her running outside the house, he locked the door and said she’d not come back to his house again. Fortunately/unfortunately for Hafsat, there’s this Yoruba guy in their area who lives alone, who had always liked her, he saw her and wanted to help, but didn’t take her to his place since they’re Muslims and she’s not his Muharamma, there and then, he said, he can marry her, which the people there agreed, and Hafsat, who didn’t have any option but to agree because that was her last resort, agreed. They got married at the middle of the night and he took her in. Things were rough for them, very, he didn’t have what it takes to hold a wife, but since he’s a hustler and goes for iron work, he eventually got things for them, bed, tv, and other necessities. As for her stepfather, he said he has disowned, and didn’t even allow the mom to go see her. As time goes by, Hafsat became pregnant, the husband, went to Lagos for some work as he said when the pregnancy was 4months old, since then, he doesn’t call, nor text. She was the one calling and telling him about her situation. The food he left her with finished, and anytime she calls to tell him, it’s from one story to another. Things become very bad due to her pregnancy, she had to go beg her mom, to beg her stepdad to please allow her to come back home, which he agreed but only under the condition of her not eating the food in the house, or using anything that belongs to him, he said the only thing he’d allow her in the house is to sleep, but even charging her phone, she must pay for it, and that what was happened. Her mom doesn’t do anything, she’s a full housewife, the type that are at the mercy of her husband. She had to be giving Hafsat her food, then starve sometimes, or share into two for them, without the father knowing. Time went by, Hafsat was due to give birth, her husband was nowhere to be found, he didn’t come back and even when the mom reached out to him, he shouted at her. They had to borrow some money from her uncle to take her to the hospital. The birth came with so much complications, she spent almost a week in the hospital, the bills stacked up and they couldn’t pay, her friend, Fatima who was Hafsat’s mate in some school in Abuja reached out to me, we stepped in and paid for everything. After returning home, the stepdad said, nothing from his house should be used in taking care of Hafsat or her baby, not even his buckets or gas or to boil hot water. They had to find gas to do all of that. I sent them money for foodstuff and the baby’s necessities. Again, time went by, the husband decided to come home, after so many pleas from me. Her mom, didn’t want to talk to him or see him. Her stepdad, he said the husband shouldn’t dare to come to his house. Hafsat was so confused and didn’t know what to do. The husband later came, apologized and pleaded, the step father said he’d give him Hafsat back but only if his family comes or he brings someone from his workplace. He did, and the stepdad allowed Hafsat to go, with the condition that she’d not come back to his house.

Nigerians Will Pay Fuel Tax When The Economy Becomes Stable — Minister of Finance, Taiwo Oyedele Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, has said the Federal Government will introduce fuel taxes when the economy stabilises and citizens’ incomes can accommodate the extra costs. He disclosed this in an interview with ARISE News on the sidelines of the 2026 IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand, explaining that the government would first consolidate its economic reforms, restore growth and improve household earnings. Oyedele said imposing additional levies immediately after petrol subsidy removal would have worsened Nigerians’ hardship. “You remove subsidy, you can’t immediately impose taxes. That would be insensitive. You push the people to the wall,” he said. The minister noted that fuel taxes account for between 20 and 80 per cent of petroleum prices in some countries, while several African nations impose multiple levies on fuel products. He said the proposed revenue would support infrastructure and help the country prepare for future disruptions in fuel supply. “Not because we want to impose taxes, it will be because those amounts of taxes will be dedicated into road infrastructure, they’ll be dedicated into building our fuel reserve, that can help us moderate prices of fuel products, if anything happens,” he explained. According to Oyedele, the arrangement could also allow the government to suspend the levies temporarily when necessary to cushion the effects of market shocks. “This is what more than 50 countries around the world, they were reducing the taxes, but we had no taxes, there was nothing to reduce,” he added. “There has to be an order published in the gazette by the finance minister, which means we can’t do it in secret,” he said. Oyedele maintained that the taxes would only be introduced when economic conditions improved sufficiently and Nigerians could understand the reasons for the policy and its expected benefits.

Squad depth.
I genuinely wonder why Tottenham went ahead and signed all those players. With Kulusevski and Maddison fit, all they really needed was Marmoush and Tonali, and that would’ve been fair enough. The rest of the signings feel unnecessary, tbh. This is where you can tell whether a coach is actually top level or just average.
