When you see someone struggling at the gym, help them out instead of judging them. Give them guidance, encourage them, and put them on. We all started somewhere.

Neither man could possibly have imagined that just one generation later, Europe would be defending itself against both of their future successors. What is happening is truly unfathomable.

Male violence against women is both dismissed and out of control and we have sadly witnessed the end result of that this week, yet again

He threatened a woman with a hammer and was free to try to kill a female MP. Saying we care about male violence against women is pure cant. theage.com.au/politics/feder…

Couldn't agree more with this. There's not a kinder, calmer, more decent person in Parliament than Helen. If this can happen to a person who has done more to make politics better, and calmer, then no one is safe.

This image, viewed over 6 million times and retweeted over 63,000 times, claims to show an elderly couple stripped down and robbed by rioters in France. The image is AI-generated, and was created with Google AI, as detected by SynthID watermarks in the image.

This is bullshit. Nugent was well acquainted with Helen Haines, he would’ve known her campaign colour was orange.

Helen Haines drives an Orange car, wears Orange clothing, her whole political branding is 🟠 This Climate Warrior Brendan Nugent @NotLaoTzu thought he was attacking ON, but took out an Independent

I absolutely understand (and have argued for myself) calling for a lowering of the temperature of political discourse, but Dr Haines was one of the most quietly competent MPs we have. She didn’t do culture wars or shouty stuff. Let’s not start rewriting this already.

Haines’s staff were back at work helping constituents today after everything they went through yesterday. This is a beautiful tribute to the ordinary people in politics, and the young men on the street who ran to help her. theage.com.au/politics/feder…

Looks like all those accounts that immediately concluded that the horrific attack on Helen Haines must have been an iMmIgRaNt or a mUsLiM now have a whole carton of eggs on their faces.

Many people have long noted that antisemitism is the ur-conspiracy theory; all conspiracy theories tend to devolve into antisemitism or copy its structure.

As usual ridiculous cherrypicking of the Brendan Nugent account. Some right accounts treating him as simply a leftie based on older tweets ignoring obvious recent shift in behaviour. Some left accounts treating ***very obviously*** sarcastic tweets re Hanson etc as sincere.
