Our writers have worked so hard writing their true small moment stories. Today we shared by reading our stories to our classmates. So proud of each of our authors! 🤩 @MrsTruongReads
Our mathematicians working with partners to solve addition problems with base ten blocks! The class reflected and our glows were: communicating, collaborating and having fun! What made it hard: “these numbers are harder than 2nd grade!” Love these learners 💛
Our writers hard at work building their writing stamina. Our goal was to write for 20 minutes today! @MrsTruongReads

I finished my first set of grad classes while virtual teaching and despite how hard it is, I am so excited for the work I am doing and proud of what I’ve accomplished so far. Time for a week off of grad classes and some much needed rest!
This video always gives me the biggest smile, hope it does the same to you on your Friday Eve!

“Just because a child doesn’t recall something, doesn’t mean it doesn’t impact them” Powerful quote in my lecture tonight on trauma and the brain. This is so important, especially as we teach our students during these difficult times.
Meeting my families this week during home visits and Open House tonight has given me the exact boost of morale I need for this school year. I am ready to learn and grow together this school year! 💛🖤 @SterlingElem
Thank you Kamryn & Friends or #TheBraceletBunch for the friendship bracelets for my class next year and thank you @3RonJohnson for meeting with me today! The bracelets are even Sterling colors! 💛🖤🤍 – at Minneapolis, MN

Juneteenth commemorates the day the last enslaved people in the US were emancipated. The year was 1865. It’s 2020, over 150 years later, & systemic racism and prejudice still exists. We have work to do and it starts with each of us. Black lives matter. Love one another. John 13:34

Kids need people who love them. Kids need structure and high expectations. Kids need restorative conversations, not suspensions. Kids need more recess. Kids need culturally relevant curriculum.
Why are things like this so hard to do? – at Chicago, IL
This year, there were challenges that I had no capacity to handle...So now it’s time to reflect, listen to others, learn,& get to work on how to be better &do better as an educator. I am committing myself to the internal work that I need to do in order to make external changes.
