So that’s it. As of this week I’m no longer a neurosurgery trainee. I’ve given up my NTN after 6 years in neurosurgery.
My stomach still flips when I think about what I’ve done. I still can’t quite believe I’ve done it. I’m not sure if it’s brave or stupid? 1/n

As a retired 35 year GP +ex Vice Chair of NICE I am at a loss over the lack of evidence (not) underpinning this policy, the lack of accountability in the decisions made , the waste of time for all, particularly the patients , the poor clinical governance+ poor risk assessment

No we are getting punished for that too now. Many ICBs won’t now fund SMS and that huge digital push? Straight out of GP practice finances. Even less money for staff now.

Hospital-led GP contracts = loss of independence, loss of voice, loss of the partnership model.
This isn’t integration it’s absorption.

How are these changes being funded eh?
Blindly supporting a government imposed contract that makes almost zero increase to GP resources to enact it and telling patients they should expect it is utterly devoid of reality and sets patients up for a fail.
