If you don't enjoy spending time around children, education may not be the right path. Teaching is as much about relationships as it is about content.

Snuggly sharing of books is the basic of reading. Not phonics. Developing a love a reading and comprehension before the mechanics.
‘You are creating a ritual, a space, a rhythm when you sing to a child, when you tell a story to a child.’ You make a connection ‘when you share a story with a child you are sharing part of yourself’ @frankcottrell_b @BBCr4today

61 years ago I was in Mount Vernon Hospital with a broken pelvis. I had been knocked down in the road near our house. The doctors and nurses were amazing. Thinking of NHS staff now, going into the holidays, working while so many others are being festive.

Healthy parenting means allowing children to struggle. To be hurt, frustrated, and to make mistakes without being rescued. Instead of “I just want my child to be happy” we need: “I want my child to be able to cope with everything life brings.”

I’m in a state of euphoria after my maiden voyage to Stenhouse Cross today to the inimitable Bains courtesy of my good pal John. By far and away the best pies and sausage rolls I’ve ever consumed. Heard people rave about it for years and every single syllable of it was justified.

Anti-Bullying Week is right around the corner, and this year’s theme is “Choose Respect” 🫡 When disputes arise among children, insults and rudeness can sometimes follow 🤬 and it’s vital for us to show them a better way.

Hello @gmcuk.
Your public consultation on your intended regulation of physician associates closed on 9 May.
Why haven’t the results been shared with the public?
Please do so.

Behaviour is communication and communication is everything. A young person can't always verbally communicate what is wrong,or how they're feeling, but their behaviour never lies. They do not consciously plan to come into school and misbehave.🧠🌱

The best teachers are those who are open to learn from others. Watching others teach, admitting weakness and looking to go and see those with expertise. Actively searching out those who can help. If you think you’ve got it all as a teacher you’re probably (definitely) wrong.

David Gray is a victim of bad circumstances. If you sack him you’ve got to sack pretty much everyone else.
This highly vicious circle of sacking several managers is slowly leading us to relegation.
Club needs a massive refresh, top to bottom.
2.5k there today. Let down.

Maybe for once, we could focus our energy on the people that actually run the club for a consistent period of time instead of giving them a easy fucking out by putting it on the guy in the dug out.

🤦🏼♂️ what is happening at Easter Road? Bottom of the league after 8 games is totally unacceptable. Same old issues can’t defend.

By failing to provide timely support for children with neurodevelopmental conditions, we're robbing them of their childhoods and potential, while wasting millions on tribunals where families win nearly every time.

I'm sorry but this 'school ready' stuff infuriates me. For a start, Reception year is meant to be early years provision not school! If children aren't 'ready' we have to adapt the system to meet their needs not make more demands of children and settings.

If we genuinely want to have an inclusive system I think we need to move the idea of 'driving up standards' back towards the idea that 'every child matters'. I don't see how you do it otherwise. 🤷♀️ @educationgovuk

Would be grateful for a RT. My daughter was not a celebrity, she was just a normal individual who unfortunately died from a brain cancer. I'm trying to raise awareness of glioblastoma, a grade 4 tumour that took her at the age of 19 yrs 5 days.
With thanks (Charlotte's mother)
