Sometimes theatre throws up performances where you can almost see the actor ‘act’. At other times the actor totally inhabits a character such that you really get sense of who that character is (for example, see @markthannah ‘Athens’ monologues). Scott is 🔥 here. Beautiful.
Andrew Scott delivers this speech too slowly; I know some viewers will hate the way he breaks up the verse. AND YET even in spite of that I think this is the best delivery of this soliloquy I’ve ever seen.
He makes it sound like it’s not a portentous speech everyone already knows but a morally serious real-time deliberation, by a highly intelligent person in extreme pain, considering what it would mean to end his own life.

The beauty & value of British football as we have known it, down thru the years growing up.
1994 was important. The World Cup 'in America' might change some things.
Meanwhile the auld Brit clubs were rebuilding...

What an absolute gem Lucy was. Consistently had her on the phone at the ticket office sorting me tickets. Home, Away, she sourced for me every time right where I wanted them. Bless her, couldn’t fathom why there was a Scottish Orient fan living in Hammersmith. RIP ANGEL ❤️🅾️⭐️
It is with extreme and profound sadness that Leyton Orient Football Club today announces the recent passing of Ticket Office Manager Lucy Freeman at the age of just 35.
On Saturday, when the O’s host Plymouth Argyle in E10, we invite all supporters to join us in observing a period of silence in Lucy’s memory ❤️

Can’t lie, Steve Evans is giving me, and probably a lot of the Hibs support, ‘won’t be back till he’s gone’ energy.
Always want the best for Hibs but Christ, this appointment would be atrocious. Just as the Malky one was.
Read the room this time, Hibs.
This push to make absolutely everything a musical is such contrived pish. Saw a quote on here years ago about musicals to the effect of “let’s ruin a great movie every 10 minutes” and that could not be more fitting here. A tired industry out of ideas appealing to singalong slop.
