We strongly condemn the brutal arrest of climate activists from @Studenteacop who peacefully marched to petition @KCBGroup against financing #EACOP. Uganda authorities, especially @PoliceUg, must respect human rights. Peaceful protest is not a crime. #StopEACOP #JustTransition

🌿 Leaf It to Trees to Save the World! 🌍🍽️
Imagine a future where your backyard tree could be breakfast, lunch, AND dinner! 🌳
Trees with edible leaves might just be our superhero duo in tackling climate change and world hunger. Here’s why:
1️⃣ Carbon Crunchers: Trees are nature’s vacuum cleaners, sucking up CO2 like nobody’s business. More trees = cleaner air, cooler planet. 🌬️
2️⃣ Leafy Feasts: Edible leaves like moringa or mulberry are packed with nutrients—think protein, vitamins, and minerals. A single tree could feed a family sustainably! 🥗
3️⃣ Low Effort, High Reward: Trees need less water and care than traditional crops. Plant ‘em, let ‘em grow, and snack on those leaves year-round. 🌱
Picture this: urban forests doubling as community kitchens, kids munching on leaf tacos, and greenhouse gases getting a timeout.
🌮💨 Let’s plant the seeds for a greener, fuller world—literally!
What’s your fave edible leaf? Or dream up a tree-based dish! 👇 #LeafThePlanet #TreesForAll

Are you ready to dive into a shocking revelation? The world's plastic pollution crisis, which is choking our oceans, littering our landscapes, and even infiltrating our bodies, has a surprisingly small number of masterminds. Yes, just 56 companies are responsible for over half of all the branded plastic pollution found globally. And you'll never guess who the biggest culprits are...
1. The Coca-Cola Company @CocaCola- This beverage giant tops the list with a staggering 11% of the branded plastic waste. That's right, the same company that brings us drinks is also leading the charge in environmental degradation with its plastic packaging.
2. PepsiCo @pepsi- Right behind Coca-Cola, PepsiCo contributes 5% to this global issue. The race to refresh us with their drinks seems to have overlooked the planet's health in pursuit of profit.
3. Nestlé @Nestle- With 3% of the pollution, Nestlé, known for its wide array of food and beverage products, shows that even our daily snacks come at a high environmental cost.
4. Danone @Danone- Also holding 3%, Danone, famous for its dairy products, adds to the plastic footprint with each yogurt cup and bottle.
5. Altria and Philip Morris International- These tobacco titans might not be the first names you think of when considering plastic pollution, but together they account for 2% of the branded waste, proving that even less obvious products contribute significantly to the crisis.
The irony is palpable: while we as consumers are encouraged to recycle, reduce, and reuse, these corporate giants continue to flood our world with plastic, often without facing the repercussions of their environmental footprint. This isn't just about plastic bottles; it encompasses everything from food packaging to the microplastics found in our water and even our bloodstreams.
It's time to call out these companies not just for their role in pollution but for their failure to lead in sustainability. We need systemic change, not just individual action. We need these companies to rethink their product packaging, embrace circular economy models, and reduce their reliance on single-use plastics.
This revelation isn't just a call to action; it's a wake-up call. We must demand accountability, transparency, and a shift towards sustainable practices from these corporations. Because if we don't, we'll continue to swim in a sea of plastic, courtesy of just 56 companies.
Let's make this a turning point. Share this information, support brands that prioritize the planet, and push for policies that hold these polluters accountable. The health of our planet depends on it.
Join the movement to #BreakFreeFromPlastic. The future of our oceans, wildlife, and ourselves hangs in the balance.
