If Keir Starmer does resign, history will look back on his reign and scratch its head as to why the hell he was so hated.
On paper, he's probably delivered more to working British people in such a short time than any PM for decades.
After inheriting an absolute mess: NHS waiting lists fallen. Worker's rights improved. Rail operators nationalised. Improved relations with EU and improved UK's global reputation. Removed non-dom tax status. Halved childcare costs. Boosted state pensions. Lowest homicide rate in 50 years. Lifted 550k children out of poverty. Immigration vastly reduced.
We are in the age of billionaire funded misinformation, whose sole purpose is to topple democratically elected leaders, and insert leadership that favours the wealthy elites over the working people. Looks like the game plan is working...

We, the supporters will always be there regardless. Always have been & always would be. What makes the football club exactly what it is.
Needless to say currently they don’t deserve us though.

Farage going big on #AngelaRayner resignation: Meanwhile “Farage claimed last year to have “bought a house” in his constituency. However house is actually owned in the name of his partner, meaning he legally avoided higher-rate stamp duty on the purchase.” theguardian.com/politics/202…

Many people don't know this, but Dr. Seuss (yes that Dr. Seuss) did political cartoons before he became a children's book author. He often warned about the rise of fascism under the guise of an 'america first' policy. Pretty crazy how relevant this is, history rhyming again.
Found this iconic race hidden away on one of Penny Chuter's tapes. It was labelled "Rowing Technique review 1968 to 1985" youtu.be/y2yfqlDir4s
Penny Chuter who passed away on Nov 16th requested that I take charge of her (massive) video collection in order to upload interesting footage to YouTube. Penny's funeral is on Monday and to mark this here is a quick video of her sculling in 1963 and 64 youtu.be/f1J6ulD4z48
You'd have to be British and over 60 to remember this, but the Paris medal party uniforms remind me of a Goodies episode from the 70's. The episode was about "Ecky Thump" which was a Lancastrian martial art involving black puddings, in which the Goodies wore oversized flat caps

Two quotes:
Rishi Sunak: "Independent Treasury officials have costed Labour's policies and they amount to a £2,000 tax rise for every working family"
Treasury Permanent Secretary: “civil servants were not involved in the production or presentation of the Conservative Party’s document”
Could have gone to Henley Rowing Club to meet the people but Rishi chose Leander☹️ However well played the Liberal Democrats

Bayer Leverkusen are using the same away kit they used in the 1/4 final against West Ham, in this evening Europa League final. Its got a bit of a Thames Rowing Club vibe about it
The Tories built a £2.6M room in number 9 Downing Street. Anyone planning even a minor event might have a plan B, hence the expression "will be held in village hall if wet". He stood there saying he had a plan 🧐

I’ve never seen this clip, from a few years ago. The best articulation of simple geopolitical reality I’ve seen in a long time. Even a simpleton could understand it, if only they’d listen.
God I miss grown up, well-read, pragmatic and convincing leaders.
