Writers and translators working across various Kenyan languages gathered to make this amazing anthology possible. Given our multilingualism, I look forward to how it redefines reading relative to the directional fluidity we employ in everyday use of language. More soon.

I will remember you today as when I first met you many years ago, dear Prof Ngugi. You’ve been my most consistent friend and mentor. You were, in every way I’ve ever known, the highest expression of humanity. Rest well my dear friend. I am, literally, because you were. I love you

This regime is wrong to believe that abductions will halt the peaceful protests against the Finance Bill, 2024.
It is also evident that @WilliamsRuto's public stance on the protests—claiming he welcomes them—is merely a deceptive tactic.
The president is clearly intimidated by the determination of the youth.
The abductees must be released.

An article in The Australian today claims that "The only reason that these vestiges [of Indigenous languages] exist at all is because they were recorded by curious or sympathetic settlers." This is false. See what Noeleen Lumby has to say about this:

At the 35th Kiswahili Colloquium at @unibt, I spoke about the danger of dominance patterns by languages of power, and how, as Kiswahili’s influence grows in Africa, it may adopt the same patterns that could easily kill off other African languages.
