Wow, Blue Origin just tipped its hand on New Glenn’s comeback.
The FCC signed off on their frequency request (1406-EX-ST-2026) on Oct 13. It says “for a New Glenn flight only,” and it kicks in Nov 1.
There’s been no official return-to-flight date since the NG-4 rocket blew up during a static fire in May. This pretty much says November is the plan. LC-36, the landing ship and the command ship are all covered.
Happy to see New Glenn making progress.
And this is for the version with the 8.7 m fairing. It looks like New Glenn and Starship have very different priorities.
New Glenn is moving toward a larger fairing for lunar base missions, while Starship’s near-term priority is deploying Starlink V3 and orbital compute satellites.

I used to think Starship 16 would launch from Florida too, but this FCC filing makes it pretty clear it’s going out of Texas. Maybe 17 is the one that flies from Florida.

Breaking: SpaceX dropped an FCC experimental STA filing for Starship communications on a Starlink mission out of Starbase. Requested window starts November 25.
That lines up pretty cleanly with what would be Flight 16.
If this is the one they’re going with, then 16 isn’t flying before the 25th, and it’s not coming out of Florida either.

Japan's mission to Mars' moons could answer a decades old question dividing the origins of Phobos and Deimos between two conflicting theories, and make history as the first spacecraft to return to Earth from orbit of the Red Planet. space.com/space-exploration/…

Orbital Launch No. 241 of 2026 🇯🇵🚀🔴🌒🛰️
MMX | MHI | October 19 | 1941 UTC
@MHI_LS to launch @Jaxa_en's Martin Moons eXploration (MMX) mission on its H3🚀 from Tanegashima LA-Y2.
MMX is a JAXA-led effort, in partnership with @NASA, @CNES, @DLR, and @ESA, to study Mars’ moons Phobos and Deimos and return at least 10 grams of Phobos material to Earth—the first sample return from the Martian system.

NEWS: Starship Flight 15 eyes November 8 with a dual catch, and Flight 16 could launch from Florida 🚀🚀
Starship could pull off two firsts before the year is out. Flight 15 is now eyeing November 8 with an attempt to catch both the Super Heavy booster and the Ship, and Flight 16 could become the first Starship launch from Florida's Launch Complex 39A in December.
A dual catch means the whole rocket comes home ready to fly again, which is the entire point of Starship. A second launch site on the East Coast matters just as much, because it ends the reliance on a single pad in Texas. If both happen, Starship ends 2026 looking like an operational system rather than a test program.

Ok, wow! That's an aggressive timeline! And I like it. But I'm really in favour of having more than one lunar landing demos for each vehicle. They could pre-stage the landing area while doing so. Including habits enabling the crew to sit there for weeks or months until another lander arrives.
Update on the HLS provider timelines from NASA
Short Overview:
Still targeting early 2028 for Artemis 4 and late 2028 for Artemis 5.
Starship cargo lander expected in 2032 and Mk2 cargo lander in 2033.
NASA provided an image of the CONOPS for Artemis 3 which is currently targeting NET Q3 2027.
Starship uncrewed landing demo still targeting NET Q4 2027. Blue Origin uncrewed Mk2 landing demo NET Q1 2028.
Starship Milestones:
First cape flight in Q4 2026 (currently NET Dec 10th). Completed HLS "Cabin 1" in Q4 2026 (ground testing cabin). This will have operations testing in Q1 2027 and airlock demonstrations in Q2.
Prop demo in Q1 2027, first launch from LC-37 also in 2027 - I personally believe 37a will be ready in Q2 or Q3.
Tank presurizations upgraded in Q2/Q3.
The first uncrewed landing demo tanker launch in Q3 with the landing demo in Q4.
Blue Origin Milestones:
New Glenn return to flight Q4 2026. First Blue Moon Mk1 landing in Q1 2027. Second Mk1 landing in Q4 2027 with the viper rover. Third Mk1 landing in Q1 2028 with an LTV (Lunar Terrain Vehicle) for Artemis 4.
Artemis 3 crew vehicle hardware complete in Q1 2027 with launch in Q2/Q3 2027.
LC36B (9x4 Pad) complete in Q3 2027 with the first NG 9x4 launch in Q4.
