From Endless Wars to Long-Term Security: A Diplomatic Plan for Israel’s Next Government! How can Israel move from recurring wars and growing international isolation toward lasting security, renewed alliances, and a more stable Middle East? In a new policy paper, the Mitvim Institute presents a concrete diplomatic and security roadmap for the first 100 days of Israel’s next government. The plan calls for a fundamental shift in Israel’s national security doctrine: recognizing diplomacy, political agreements, and regional partnerships as essential components of national security, alongside military strength. Among its key recommendations: 1. Gaza and the Palestinian arena: Advance the implementation of President Trump’s 20-Point Plan, establish a credible governing alternative to Hamas, stabilize the West Bank, and create a pathway toward a two-state solution. 2. Regional diplomacy: Pursue phased security agreements with Syria and Lebanon, rebuild trust with Egypt and Jordan, and relaunch an expanded Negev Forum with *Jordanian and Palestinian participation. 3. A Riyadh Peace Conference: Convene a U.S.-led regional and international summit at the end of the first 100 days to connect Israeli-Palestinian progress with a broader regional framework and a five-year strategic vision. 4. Renewing international partnerships: Rebuild strategic relations with the United States and Europe, strengthen ties with Ukraine, and expand cooperation on regional security, energy, and economic connectivity. 5. Putting diplomacy at the heart of security: Strengthen Israel’s foreign-policy institutions and ensure that diplomatic alternatives are considered in national security decision-making. The central message is clear: Military achievements alone cannot guarantee long-term security. They must be translated into lasting diplomatic arrangements. Mitvim’s proposed approach to deep security seeks not only to respond to immediate threats, but to shape the political, economic, and regional conditions that can prevent future conflicts. The paper offers a practical sequence of diplomatic initiatives, regional engagements, and concrete steps designed to begin changing Israel’s strategic reality within 100 days.

Building Regional Cooperation on Food Security Food security is becoming an increasingly urgent strategic priority across our region. Climate change, recurring security crises, disruptions to international supply chains and growing pressure on water and agricultural systems all point to the same conclusion: no country can address this challenge alone. Israel’s national food security plan highlights the need to strengthen domestic production and diversify imports, while also addressing water allocation cuts, gaps in emergency reserves and global supply instability. Jordan has raised $100 million to develop its emergency food security reserves. In Gaza, restoring local food production is a central pillar of recovery and rehabilitation. Egypt has raised $2.2 billion for land reclamation and support for small-scale agriculture in the Northern Delta and frontier regions. These efforts are important — but food security cannot be built unilaterally. Climate diplomacy offers a regional framework for reducing dependence on imports, lowering costs, strengthening crisis preparedness and building shared resilience. To help place food security higher on the regional agenda, Mitvim and the Arava Institute convened the first meeting of the Regional Food Security Forum on September 2. The new forum brings together agrifood and diplomacy experts, practitioners and stakeholders from Jordan, Palestine and Israel, with a focus on practical avenues for cross-border cooperation. The first meeting explored how to move from shared challenges to concrete action, including shared dry food storage and emergency reserves, collaborative pest monitoring and real-time information sharing, coordinated crisis management mechanisms, production quotas and responses to market failures in essential crops, improved post-harvest knowledge, support for sustainable livestock and pastoralism, and the transfer of surpluses to communities in need. Despite the significant political challenges facing the region, the meeting demonstrated that practical progress is possible — and that stakeholders across the region are ready to work together to advance it. @SergioKkibrik @LielMaghen @OZanany

A growing number of European countries are banning—or preparing to ban—imports from Israeli settlements. But what could this mean for Israel’s economy as a whole? In a new Mitvim paper, Dr. Maya Sion-Tzidkiyahu examines the economic and commercial implications of these measures, warning of a potential spillover into trade with sovereign Israel through over-compliance, de-risking, and a growing “silent boycott.” Read the full analysis: mitvim.org.il/en/publication… @MayaSionT

@MayaSionT

2026 >> mitvim.org.il/wp-content/upl… @SergioKkibrik
