This is an excellent development for Bihar. I have been arguing that if the state mandates that its data be located within the state boundaries, we will see many IT companies start to operate from Bihar. May a hundred datacenters bloom.
#WATCH | Patna | Bihar Minister Shreyasi Singh says, "A 12-megawatt data center has been inaugurated in the Patliputra Industrial Area on BIADA land. I certainly extend my thanks and best wishes to the CtrlS Group for laying a strong foundation for Bihar's industrial development today. As the entire world moves steadily towards digitalization, Bihar, too, has now entered this arena and will continue to advance in it. The Industries Department of the Bihar Government is working with great dedication to foster industrial growth and develop industrial zones. We are actively working on initiatives ranging from data centers and the upcoming 'Centre of Excellence' for Artificial Intelligence to new methods for bringing digitalization and digital industries to the ground level in Bihar..."

I think the deptt of IT has tried to approach the top IT companies but that has not moved the needle much. I also believe that while IT professionals can indeed advise, without financial participation and risk taking, it won't help much. My thesis is that govt should change focus to smaller IT companies, both home grown and elsewhere and create a preferential purchase policy for them. If a hundred companies can grow to 100+ size, that is 10,000 IT jobs in the state!
Sir, you are absolutely right. But the real question is: Are the government’s efforts enough, and are they going in the right direction? Take the IT industry meets in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Instead of limited events with little outreach, Bihar should directly approach top IT companies and their senior leaders to bring investment to the state. Our engineering colleges also need more industry tie-ups. Colleges like MIT Muzaffarpur, GECs in Darbhanga, Samastipur, Bhagalpur, Purnea and thru out the state need MoUs with companies, internships, practical projects and campus placements. Many IT professionals working in Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad are ready to help Bihar with their experience and ideas. The government should invite them, listen to their suggestions and involve them in building Bihar’s IT sector. Sir, you understand these challenges better than I do, and you may know what else is missing. But we need more than events and announcements. Bihar needs real partnerships that bring investment, skills and jobs to our youth. @DitBihar @mishranitish

Mithila has been the cradle of Vedic Culture in India since 3000+ years. Yagnavalkya famously said "if there is a debate on dharma / adharma or there is confusion about what is as per dharma, look at what the people in Mithila do". CSTS, a trust working for the development of culture, language, literature and traditions of Mithila have launched "DevtaPittar.com", a website that lets everyone experience the pure vedic tradition of Mithila using priests with deep sanskrit scholarship, training in tradition and spiritual reverence. The website will bring economic opportunities to the priests in Mithila and connect the traditions of Mithila to global audiences. DevtaPittar (Gods and Ancestors) launches with option to book a puja for your family on the occasion of "Anant Chaturdashi". Do visit and experience the power of "Anant" (never ending).

NuPov #2: An OpenAI agent crossed the boundaries of its own test. In Patna, builders are trying to create rooms where work continues after the event ends. At @MithilaStack, we are deciding how much freedom an SEO agent should have inside a live codebase. And in Nalanda, a young engineer is working through the physical limits of building a jet engine. While AI is displacing jobs in tech, customer support, BFSI, it has added net new jobs specially in data labelling, data annotation and preparation of data for AI modelling. I spoke with @SagrikaKissu and shared about the work we are doing via @MADHUBANILF and @MithilaStack in this segment. Thanks Sagrika for the mention. theprint.in/ground-reports/a…

Is AI creating more jobs than displacing them? I had a chance to discuss the @Nomura report (nomuraconnects.com/focused-t…) on @CNBC_Awaaz show. My take - the real impact of AI is yet to be seen, will take time to play out. We must start AI education from our schools asap. Catch the full show here - youtube.com/live/GGL3hhzM114…

Can Bihar Startups Build a Rs. 100 cr Business ? Since the 2022 Bihar Startup Policy was unveiled and govt offered a Rs. 10 lakh grant to startup founders; a Rs. 15 lakh follow-on grant for those who were growing and a Rs. 50 lakh matching grant for startups for those who had raised Angel funds, the state has seen five thousand plus "founders" and "selected" nearly two thousand for initial funding (grant). What have Bihar startups been building? Mostly marketplaces - eCom/qCom, Urban services, logistics & transportation aggregation, D2C brands for Arts & Crafts, food products, Agro-based products. Very few startups have received angel funding (Cat-I AIF). Very few startups working on hard tech - devices, embedded hardware, software products, SaaS, analytics have emerged. A handful startups are building EV related solutions - batteries, charging stations, vehicles. Few startups have scaled to even Rs. 10 cr revenue and profitability / sustainability remains a challenge. Why is this so? The answer lies in the next question. Where do bihar startup founders come from? They are mostly young founders, low on corporate/professional work experience, low on financial literacy, low on management experience and hard skills - engineering, science, tech. There is a natural celing to how big they can grow by themselves. So why can't they hire senior management with prior experience of scaling businesses? The answer lies in the next question. What does Bihar ecosystem lack today? Senior folks who have scaled businesses. Folks who can mentor younger founders. Who can get embedded within the startup in operational and mentor roles and build scaling capacity. And it lacks Capital, especially private capital. Will this change in the next 5 years? Will we see private capital going into Bihar Startups? Private capital today is going into hashtag#DeepTech startups. AI - models, applications, data labelling, skilling. Into hard engg. and science oriented startups - space tech, defence, energy, medical devices, pharma, new materials. The "Age of Marketplaces" may be over. Bihar startups need to move into the next higher orbit. Bihar needs to find new founders and mentors and build the next generation of founders. Those who have some experience under their belt. Technical of scientific skills that makes them capable to innovate and build R&D based products and new solutions. At the Patliputra Samvad last week, I told the 40 odd folks in the room that unless they had a plan to get to Rs. 100 cr revenue in 7-8 years, investors outside Bihar/India may not even look at you. Was I right? Will love to hear your comments, ideas and suggestions.

AI becomes truly impactful when intelligence reaches the people who need it most. During the 2026 southwest monsoon season, an AI/ML-based hybrid blended model enabled the dissemination of localised agronomic monsoon onset advisories to approximately 5.28 crore farmers across 15 States and 1 Union Territory. This is technology moving from forecast to field, helping translate weather intelligence into information that can support timely decisions. With multilingual AI tools and regional-language applications also being developed, India is strengthening the last-mile delivery of weather information. From data to decisions. From forecasts to action. Great session. It was amazing to see 95% of the students were already using AI for research, creating posters and images, even films, learning and of course “reels”. I told them with AGI around the corner, by the time they graduate (2031) there may be no jobs for them! But if they mastered AI and focussed on solving local and community challenges using AI tools, they could be winners in the post AGI world.
Excited about visiting @cusbfamily and speaking with the new batch on "Startup Opportunities in AI". We must increase the # of founders/entrepreneurs in Bihar and must increase the capability / capacity in the field of AI. Thanks to the Institution Innovation Council CUSB for inviting me and giving me an opportunity.

"If an AI agent takes a wrong decision, who's to blame?" That's the question Saurabh Jha, SVP & Global Head (P&L) - Data & AI at @tech_mahindra, has spent the last few years solving. In this episode, he explores why most enterprise AI fails not because the models are weak, but because AI doesn't understand how a business actually runs, and how an ontology layer is helping fix hallucinations and agent accountability at scale. 🎥 Watch the full conversation on AIM Network's YouTube channel: youtube.com/watch?v=emILJ-ZM… #TechMahindra #EnterpriseAI #AIMNetwork
