2) It's good for your finances. Not being on electoral roll can make it more difficult to be accepted for credit products like bank accounts or mortgages.
3) You can opt out of the 'Open Register' (which allows your info to be sold on) which will stop you getting junk mail marketing )

1. Always remember the first time data arrived in schools. It was about three weeks into the autumn term. Our Head of Department came in to the office looking a bit confused and also sort of sheepish. He was holding a piece of paper with a table on it..
I'm not suggesting teachers piling off to the pub on Friday lunchtime should be brought back... but I am suggesting a culture where everything is slightly less high stakes, rigid and robotic would be very cool. Just a bit more chill. There's something about the old days to me that says 'human' a bit more.

The amount of teachers who say ‘if I could just have X% less teaching contact time and more free periods than I do now, I would LOVE my job, but as it is, I can barely stay afloat’ is staggering.
Significantly more PPA/free time would absolutely be the game changer the profession needs.

Soooo, my new TT (& all teaching staff get this!) has a ‘well-being free’ which is either 1st/last period once/fortnight. This is so staff can come in late (tutor duties automatically covered), or leave early.
