Without a clearly defined strategy, churches naturally gravitate back to what they’ve always done but add on new programs to try to accomplish the new vision. With every iteration of the vision, more things get added, but nothing ever gets subtracted.

It is true that worship has a formative power, but we must be careful not to functionalize worship. We ought not instrumentalize our intimacy with God. Worship Jesus because He is worthy, not because we want to be transformed. Formation is a *result* not the *goal* of worship.

Guys, seriously: as the year comes to a close, let’s keep the Christ in Christmas and the Ween in Halloween.

The big thing for raising the next generation (for churches, companies, colleges and governments) is that it takes high performance leaders with low demand egos. If you have that, anything is possible. If you don't have that, everything is impossible.

Nearly three years ago, @FSUFootball QB McKenzie Milton suffered a catastrophic injury that nearly forced the amputation of his right leg. Last Sunday, thanks to his belief and strong support system, he made his return. @accnetwork

WELCOME BACK, MCKENZIE MILTON 👏 After almost three years away from football because of a devastating leg injury, he passes for a first down in his first play and goes 4-for-4 in a TD drive.

I haven’t wanted to listen to this, partly because I don’t want any part of shaking my head at someone else’s downfall (see: Obadiah) & partly because I didn’t want the PTSD from our own church story. But it is so well done. And it is so terribly sobering. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
