BREAKING VIDEO: Kenya’s Sabastian Sawe becomes the first person ever to win a regular marathon in under two hours, setting a new world record at the London Marathon in 1:59:30!
Kenyans invented running™
The world population was 35% of what today’s is as 50million people had been killed in WW2 inclusive of the age groups that would be competing. Cherry picked analysis
This is not meant to detract from those that have won gold for Australia, and 18 (with the potential for more) is an enormous effort however you slice and dice.
But just in terms of historical comparisons, there are 329 golds on offer this time, compared to 151 in 1956 when Australia won 13, or even 2004 (17 of 301).

G’day from Down Under @tedcruz. Thanks for your interest in the Territory. I’m the Chief Minister. Below are a few facts about COVID down here.
I love the Aussies. Their history of rugged independence is legendary; I’ve always said Australia is the Texas of the Pacific.
The Covid tyranny of their current government is disgraceful & sad.
Individual liberty matters.
I stand with the people of #Australia

Throwback to 5 years ago when Tony Fauci, at 74 yo, was suiting up to treat an Ebola patient himself because he "wanted to show his staff that he wouldn't ask them to do anything he wouldn't do himself". This is what leadership looks like. sciencemag.org/news/2015/03/…
