The hydrological situation across a large part of the Iberian Peninsula is alarming, to say the least, and conditions are set to worsen as several powerful atmospheric rivers are forecast; major flooding cannot be ruled out.
Great to see the festive football fun start at @Saints_Trust @WalkingFootScot

Start of a @SEPAFlood @metoffice flood forecasting shift today… only to coincide with the last day shift of the legend Peter Sloss… so many years of support, enjoy that well earned retirement Peter & hope the office give him a good send off @JudithRalston

This is developing into quite a storm complex now, flash flooding & large hail the main concerns.
Forecasting shift Day 3. Possibility of some thunderstorms creeping into the Scottish Borders this evening, so we've escalated the risk. @SEPAFlood Alert now in force floodline.sepa.org.uk/floodu…
Forecasting shift Day 2. Looks like Scotland might miss the worst of Saturday's thunderstorms, NSWWS no in force for England. We're closely watching how this develops though 👀 @SEPAFlood @metofficeScot
Replying to @metoffice
Isolated thunderstorms are possible across other regions as well
But it is those within the warning area that have the potential to be the most impactful, bringing sudden flooding in places
Just started a @SEPAFlood @metofficeScot forecasting shift. Interesting set up for Saturday. Could see an escalation in the flood risk.
