Incredibly close lightning from an overhead thunderstorm in Warwickshire about half an hour ago, closest I've seen in my life.
Apologies for the excitement there 😂

Nice looking shelf cloud off coast at Clacton followed by deluge this morning . A thunderstorm in every aspect except no lightning and thunder 🌧️. @metoffice @StormHour @danholley_ @MetJam_ #loveukweather #stormhour
Just about an inversion on the Malverns this morning, after it was a little below the top of the low cloud!

The Atlantic just made it to September 21 without a hurricane.
Last time that happened? 1914.
Fay almost ruined it last night. It hit 70 mph. Hurricane strength is 74.
Now it’s falling apart, and nothing else is expected for at least a week.
And the last 3 springs being the warmest on record when they happened. We have entered uncharted territory now.

Truly incredible line of thunderstorms that just slammed Coventry this evening.
The best 'Whale's Mouth' structure I've seen, followed by prolific nonstop lightning strikes above me, which continued as the storms away.

Following nearly 10 weeks of barely any rainfall, the heavens finally opened here in the Midlands. Gorgeous cloudscapes in between the downpours!
Last year's summer was still pretty remarkable I remember the grass going pretty yellow, but this year's is on an unprecedented level
Rather damp at The Old Man of Storr this evening. So different to most of England!

My favorite capture of the night: The moment the moon's shadow split the sunset in half, leaving a diamond ring in the sky and a breathtaking view. I call it "Shadows on the Balearic Sea".
I'll have prints available for this one linked in my bio for a few days only.

Clouded over for the solar eclipse here in the north of Scotland, but I did notice it get darker!
Currently sightseeing in the north of Scotland and I just passed the Altnaharra Met Office weather station. The site holds the joint UK coldest temperature on record of -27.2°C set back in December 1995.

Good to see the full moon come up tonight out in the Warwickshire countryside. Been a little while since I last saw one myself.
