Decades of stolen wages, the Gurindji strike, black-birding of South Sea Islander people, domestication under government policies, the mission system and using Aboriginal people to prop up pastoral and mining industries are just some examples given. sbs.com.au/nitv/article/2020…

Today is Mabo Day, A day we honour and celebrate the life of the late Eddie Koiki Mabo. One of this country’s great leaders, he and others helped prove Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander land rights, our ongoing connections to country and abolished the myth of terra nullius.

I want to live in a 🇦🇺 that celebrates/ recognises our Indigenous past. When we held Cathy Freeman up to the world at Opening Ceremony of the Olympics what were we saying exactly? Was it “this is who we are” OR was it “this is who we want you to think we are”? #IStandWithAdam
