Ever wonder why Rescheduling or even small regulatory reforms in mj are so difficult? Well...there were/are people in government who worked with advocacy groups to put out content like this historically and Congress broadly had this attitude up to the late 90s(or later) on mj.
Watch therapeutic use of cannabis amongst 50+ age cohorts explode post rescheduling to 3.
-Trump announces it (meaning everyone now knows-Trump creates more widely viewed news)
-even in legal states, fed illegality affects mindset
-now doctors can more freely recommend
-this leads to more open, informed patient/doctor discussion
-cannabis becomes part of the health regimen
-insurance reimburses many therapeutic uses(whoa Nellie!)
-no barriers to therapeutic use
-research drives more targeted cannabinoid products
Wouldn't more accurate description of rescheduling effects be "End of overtaxation through one arcane tax provision" or "End of Punitive Taxation" than "tax break".
But agreed that folks may not realize how much cash this sucks out of canna cos annually.

Not sure why canna stocks didn't immediately spike with Gaetz announcement. Yes, he was against Amendment 3, but his opposition was on the mechanics of using a ballot measure not the substance. He was very influential in pushing medical legalization in Fl years ago.
We did a pretty deep dive on hemp derived for s/h last Q and how cannacos will see it as another category to put all their hard-earned consumer expertise into. $GTBIF proving that was prescient. Maybe we should turn our analysis into a commentary and release it far and wide?
The debate on whether cannastocks are trading on FL Am 3 news is getting settled in real time. They are in a fast money risk bucket including crypto, and crypto is what hot. At least that is what it seems to lots of folks we speak to.
It's amazing to watch cannabis cos get hammered because of Fl failure (or maybe perception Trump is anti?), but either way, nothing has changed for most cos so all moves today were ridiculous overreactions to a 57 pct yes vote on legalizing. Rescheduling still going fwd.
Florida still has one of the most robust medical programs which also failed to hit its ballot benchmark until it did. Easy to get a med card, easy to get delivery, tons of dispos to serve ppl. All is not lost- you just need a huge number to pass ballot measures, nothing more.
