Just about every day there's something new for the 'This Fucking Government!' file. 😬

2025 was a total outlier year for the Blue Jays, when the baseball gods pranked the fans by making everything go right so we'd be saddled with Ross Atkins for another five years.
Absolutely true about the Blue Jays. There SHOULD be accountability for this but there is none. 😡😡😡

Ford government has no empathy or conscience. They collect $3 billion a year from gambling. So what? We've seen what they do with $3 billion lots of times, and it isn't impressive.
I’m deeply troubled by the Toronto Star’s reporting that the Ford government hid a study showing problem gambling rates significantly higher than expected. Ontarians deserve transparency, not a government that keeps them in the dark. As premier, I’ll put an end to Ford’s harmful online gambling advertising scheme and make sure Ontarians have the treatment and support they need to recover from gambling addiction. #ONpoli

If he'd said that about U.S. aid to Israel it would have made some sense.
You know why he lies about Canada? Because we dared to say no to him, and Donald can't handle someone saying no.

America? Take grampa's keys. He's pissing everybody off and making you look stupid too. By the way? HE'S spending all your money.
Trump: I do not want to lose $90 billion for the privilege of allowing Canada to have a healthcare system and other things that they shouldn't have. They spend our money!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The statement in the video misstates the US-Canada trade deficit as a $90B loss subsidizing healthcare; the goods and services deficit was $27B in 2025 and stems mainly from US purchases of Canadian oil while Canada's system is funded by its own taxes. usafacts.org/articles/us-ca… canada.ca/en/health-cana… realeconomy.rsmus.com/market-minute-… ustr.gov/countries-regi…

Provincial governments have a lot of authority and it keeps on growing, but many or most people assume that the federal government has more in every way, and can override provincial bungling. They're the sweet spot for cynical politicians like Ford to evade accountability.
#ONpoli #TOpoli It really is incredible how all of Doug Ford’s strategists and former staffers are saying we need to get rid of Chow to fix Toronto’s problems when it is Doug Ford’s provincial government who owns most of the issues.

In the last 40 years there has been a generally inverse trend in the relationship between amount of authority and level of competence of Canadian provincial governments.
It has done none of those things. This is detestable scapegoating.

What bothers you about Toronto: ER waits, homelessness, crowded classrooms, empty storefronts, is because of Doug Ford not Olivia Chow

Doesn't everybody invent a flying car by their 8th birthday?
This is actually a great analogy because one actually exists the other is a spectacle for shareholders.

Are the others saying don't bother with the first two?
🚨 BREAKING: CNN reports that 75% of Americans say President Donald Trump should be impeached, tried, and imprisoned.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
No CNN report claims 75% of Americans want President Trump impeached, tried and imprisoned. Recent CNN polls and coverage show his approval at ~33-36% with no matching impeachment figure. cnn.com/polling transcripts.cnn.com/show/cnc/date/… newsweek.com/impeach-trump-… cnn.com/polling/approv…

Yes. I hope everyone everywhere was paying attention to the Gordie Howe Bridge shakedown. Even if you have a deal with these people, you don't have a deal. Or, as Carney said, "signed in pencil."
Replying to @PaulStewartII
surprise surprise. Get it straight, the current US administration has ZERO desire to make a deal with anyone. THIS is why nobody should be bending knee to these fucking arseholes. It won't gain your nation a god damned thing.

If they lose, as most of us hope, it'll be funny to see a WS between small payroll teams. It'll support the anti-salary cap position of the PA this winter by showing that dumb front offices (Shapiro? Atkins? Any comment?) may be a more severe handicap than high salaries. 🤔
Guys, I’m starting to think the Dodgers are in trouble. 🤷🏻‍♂️⚾️😆

Agreed. There's also a less-extreme measure of summoning the ambassador of a country that's pissing you off for a meeting to formally register your displeasure. We've haven't done that either with this unqualified lout.
It's well past time to remove the U.S ambassador from Canada...

Listening to her reminded me of Kinga Surma.
As questions swirl about new WH press secretary Katie Zacharia’a resume & credentials, I’ll ask this: In the most mendacious administration in world history— where EVERYTHING is a lie wrapped in deception, how the fuck are you surprised that it’s fake?!! apple.news/A95tydeoDTNKknq9A…

Yes. Toronto offered to reconfigure the bike lanes to restore the traffic lanes and keep the bike lanes and the province refused to consider it. That gives the game away.
Replying to @EricDLombardi
Because it’s not about “easing congestion” but “those damn cyclists taking our space”

Good idea. The GTA would be one of Canada's larger population province. But you're right, won't happen because the other levels of government are happily mining Toronto for approximately $20 billion a year in taxes net of all spending on the city, which you never hear about.
Maybe Toronto should separate from Ontario…? It’ll never happen but does raise interesting governance and autonomy questions in this topsy-turvy era of ours.

Spending millions ripping out bike lanes after spending millions building them and more millions litigating over it, is the pitiful condition of Ontario with this provincial government in a nutshell. How can Canada prosper with these blundering oafs ruining its largest province?
Construction trucks leaving Bloor and Islington area after being successfully deterred from starting work on removing bike lanes in Toronto by a large protest.

I cannot understand why people who claim to hate Canada so much and trash her constantly on social media don't leave? Go to another country. Why stay? Nobody is forcing you to stay in Canada. You're free to leave.

A bad side of human nature is confusing "there aren't any" with "I'm poorly informed."
I'm reading this morning Canada has no folk songs to represent. Come on. Both Sides Now, Wheat Kings, Canadian Railroad Trilogy, Northwest Passage, Log Driver's Waltz, Down by the Henry Moore, The Hockey Song, Helpless, Harvest Moon, Four Strong Winds. 1/2
